I'm doing PT 3 days a week after the hip replacement. I'm now cane free. Walked with my dog over a mile today, so I'm hopeful I can start getting the weight off. I love my Pad-a-cheek. Now just today I ordered a CPAP pillow. Hope that helps with the side sleeping, which I prefer.

My weight seems to be skyrocketing. I'm concerned that it might have something to do with my pre-diabetes. I've gained about 10 pounds in the last year. also, my wife is pregnant, and wondering whether that has some effect on what I'm eating.

Well, I made an appointment with a nutritionist. My doc said that the menopause thingie has kicked in full force slowing down my metabolism. I am soooooo tired of feeling this way. I am excited to get some one-on-one time with someone who knows how to adjust my calories to compensate for the wonderful aging process. It is no mystery, calories in calories out. We will see what happens in the months to come. I just broke my leg 3 weeks ago, so all my great morning exercising went into the trash can. I guess I get to start over again. But I am hanging in there!

Keep trying Linda! I just did my first PT session after a really bad flare up of hip bursitis hit me in late July. I'm trying to do the exercises morning and night. Hopefully it'll help. I don't want that pain ever again! I couldn't walk at all for four days without extreme pain. Just one more of my many reasons to keep losing weight!

Thanks Teresa for your congrats. I believe that during a vacation it is normal to say that you can eat what you want but as we both know, we're only fooling no one when we say that but most of all we know better. There are choices and we have to learn the right choices. At least with ww you can save your points so you don't have to miss out on everything! Good luck and have a great time. Remember, it doesn't have to be about food all the time.

Thanks for the heads up on the Pad a Cheeks. Mine came in the mail yesterday and they really feel great. No marks on my face this this morning either. One more hurdle I'm over. Now if I could just get rid of my cane after the hip replacement. It was June 4 and I'm still working with PT, but can't seem to get cane-free. I have lost 9 lbs since surgery though.

Thanks Teresa. I lost 3.2lbs last week! Finally back on track. A big thing for me is to have a lot of good choice foods in the house! AND keep my motherinlaw from bringing in a bunch of sugary crap. She's a Type2 diabetic (as is my husband) and she uses my 3 year old as an excuse to bring a bunch of donuts, cookies, etc into the house when she's here. I made her pack up the cinnamon buns, brownies, cookies and coffee cake she bought and take it home with her today. She just doesn't get it! No one in this house needs that kind of crap, and certainly not in those amounts!

I can't wait to learn and lose with all of you. I started eating less and working out more a couple week ago and already lost 10 lbs! I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2007 but never did treatment. I gained 30 lbs since that year. I was already 40 lbs overweight at that time so now I'm in really deep trouble. HELP!
