I just read an article about him and it seems he's somewhat of an affectionado of the ascot.
Owns a lot of them and they are somewhat off a trademark for him
I don't know if the link will come out,but I googled him and he thinks the ascot should make a comeback. Sure looks more comfortable than a tie, but rather eccentric. He pulls it off.

I liked Jon Stewart's take on it - http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-may-5-2010/roland-martin-wear...

In the meantime, I think Jon has a trache - http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-may-10-2010/roland-martin-def...

Jon and Roland do look more rested on recent shows. :):):)
Banyon are you thinking of getting a trach?
Rock, For people like me who have a very difficult condition to treat with CPAP, Dr. Mack Jones has very appealingly described his skin-lined trache in his book Deadly Sleep.

It would put an end to some very difficult problems for me. However, it also brings with it some other problems.

If there were a top-notch doctor locally who was very experienced in performing these surgeries, I would have a consultation with him and do a cost/benefit analysis.
I enjoyed Dr. Mack's book as well. What makes your condition so difficult to treat?

19 cm
That will do it. Have you tried Bpap?

I hated BiPAP and the exhale pressure needed to be nearly as high as inhale.

Titrated myself on my tummy. 7.5 cm does a good job. I wear a backpack to force myself away from backsleeping.

Can't sleep on sides due to two other problems.

Sleeping the entire night on tummy is very difficult since it is not my natural position. So I stay in a nearly constant sleep-deprived condition.

Like I said, the trache that Jones had is appealing.
Have you tried the Falcon method of sleeping. You sleep on your stomach and it is suppose to help with apneas and is comfortable. I have never been a stomach sleeper so have never tried it.

I am going to try to post a link to an article about it.

I use an approximation of that (semi-swastika). It is quite an excellent way to sleep and is good for the back. The problem is that there is a natural desire to vary your position during the night. In my case it is a powerful urge and after three to five hours on my tummy, the urge to vary the position causes serious interference with my sleep.

Thanks for the link. I like the new Falcon name but the sleeping position has been known for millenia.
hav4e you tried sleeping on your back and your legs and feet on the wall
it is like siting only your back is on the bed and your legs are vertical in the air suppported by the walll
