Do you think it's safe to buy cpap supplies from ebay sellers? If so, what have you bought and is it cheaper than buying from a online store? I am thinking of buying a 3 pack of tubing, the clinicans guide to my cpap machine and the software to download the results.

I do not do E-Bay, and do not wish to start now. I would be very leery about buying any CPAP supplies online. I would be worried about getting good supplies that are not used. I would never get used stuff for CPAP. It is my life at the end of the tube and do not need any illness from the equipment I use.
Maybe the auction things are good, but I do not wish to partake. Also, I am not trying to brag, but I get my supplies from the VA. I get a new mask every six months and a new hose each year. I feel blessed to have this available to me because I do know what some of the prices are and do not know what I would do if I had to pay for it all.

Ebay is safe, make sure you look at the sellers history, I do not buy from anyone with a negative comments.. I have made that a rule and have never had a problem. I have purchased and sold items there for 10 years. Gerry

I have bought at auction and got cheap mask-it was sealed in bag but flimsy--and i ended up paying price that could have got me one on cpap.com--- cpapusa is another site that is good--never bought used but i have some i want to give or get to some one as they dont fit--need a site for that

Marlene, You can auction off masks that don't fit on www.cpapauction.com. Just be truthful about how long you used it and its condition. You can also detail what you have here- brand size, number of uses and someone may come forward that can use it and just buy a new cushion if necessary. Many folks would be grateful fot the offer.

Mary Z---is there a place where masks can be sent and given to the less fortunate--i have a sister who wore hers so long it was a pile of tape when i learned of it--she had been on cpap 5 years and i didnt know she was in a life struggle as we hadnt spoken in 6 years--family stuff u know---:) i am not a rich person but know what it is like not being able to get something due to money--i dont have insurance but shop on line for my things and feel i have saved a lot and saved the insurance co. a lot--not that they would return the favor- :)

I have bought CPAP supllies from eBay. No problem at all.
The other source is CPAPauction.com. So far so good except they have odd rules. If you have Auto CPAP Prescription, you are not allowed to buy straight CPAP for backup machine
My advice on your intend to buy Clinician's Guide.
There is not need to buy the manual. If you have Respironics CPAP M series, juts push both arrows when turning it on (=booting) and you can setup everything. The new PR system one: Turn the button to SETUP and then push the 2 buttons available on its panel and you can access the setup menu....

A coworker of mine and one of my best friends used to be a respiratory therapist. She is familiar with C-Pap and is a frequent user of Ebay. She was ordering my supplies for me on Ebay. It was cheaper than the insurance co-pay. The items were the exact same things that I would have gotten through the insurance. I am on a new machine now and I have to take the stuff through insurance until it is paid for. When it is, I'll probably have her go back to getting me my supplies. I have no problem with Ebay.

I have purchased many items from eBay, things my family would have had to do without if I had to purchase retail. I am a savvy buyer and always check prices prior to bidding. Do your homework before hand and you can save a bundle.
I have purchased jewelry, movies, books, software, clothing, among other items. Not everyone is on there to rip you off. You can make some outstanding buys -- if you know what you are looking for and know the value of the item prior to bidding.
For several years I was a steady seller on eBay. You would be surprised what you can pick up locally and turn around and make a good profit on it. I know we picked up a bottle at a garage sale for twenty-five cents, yep $0.25 and sold it for $730.00. Yep, seven hundred and thirty dollars. It so happened that particular bottle was made in the early 1800's and only 100 are known to survive today. And to think I let the grandkids play with it for awhile before I listed it.

I've been screwed twice on E-bay where I lost money!!! E-bay says that as long as its paypal you get your money back but it's a hassel getting it back. I personaly won't use it anymore.

It depends on what you are buying, and whether the seller has 100% positive feedback, and whether the price plus shipping is really, truly cheaper than buying from a CPAP supplies place online. Is the product returnable for a refund? What is the price including shipping? I usually do better by accessing two websites: www.google.com and click on Shopping (up top), or www.froogle.com, which is the same thing. Type in the product, and when the results come up, you will see a drop-down arrow by the word Relevance. Click on the arrow and change to Price Lowest to Highest. The other website is www.cpapauction.com, where a lot of CPAP supply places sell at a lower price (including shipping) - but not always. Hope this helps. I have not found eBay to be cheapest, with shipping. Also, if you are buying something that should require a prescription and they don't require it, best not to deal with the person. -Vicki
