Using the chin-up strips, setting the humidifier on 2 and using the ResMed Swift LT for Her, I actually slept 7 hours the last 2 nights. I am so excited and feel I am on the road to recovery. Thanks for everyone's support. I would still like to find a better alternative to keeping my mouth closed as the strips are rather pricey. Any suggestions?

Congratulations, Carolyn!! That's such great news!! I remember the first time I slept that long very well. I'm happy for you.
What chin strips are you using? I'm still trying to get mouth breathing under control. FF mask hasn't stopped it and leaks to boot. This is, I think, my 7th mask.....thin face = no fit to date. They're all comfortable to wear but they all leak.
Kudos to you for sticking with CPAP--it's made a huge difference in the way I feel--hoping the same for you!!

I didn't want yet another strap going around my head so thought I would try these. So far they work very well. I didn't want to go to a full face mask (since I am a mouth breather when I sleep) so am using these with the ResMed Swift LT for Her (nasal pillows). The less I have on the better!! Maybe you should try this combo since this nasal pillow mask is made for women so it is for a smaller face.

Some have had success with Poligrip strips. Cut into thin strips and run your tongue over your lips to slightly wet them. Put the strips on the bottom lip and press lips together.

Hmm, wonder if you could save some money by just buying a pack of Moleskin sheets and cutting them like the chinup strips? Moleskin comes in sheet pack of 4 for around $1.94 and they are 4X3 in so you might get 2 out of each sheet if cut right. Just a thought.

Well, that's a good thought.....I just ordered some of those strips but I have some moleskin. Maybe I'll give it a try. The only thing that might be a problem is the strips are shaped--the ones I ordered are like a horseshoe. I'll mess around with it and see what happens.

Hi Jackie! Long time, no talka!! Yeah, I'm not sure if these strips will help but I'm willing to try about anything but a chin strap. The thought of wrapping one more thing around my head is just too much. And the tape-your-lips-shut deal is kinda creepy (to me anyway--seems to work well for some).
How 'ya been, girl???

This is not a "chin strap" but an adhesive chin-up strip that you buy online here: http://www.chinupstrip.com/
They are FDA approved. You can still cough with them (if you need to) and they are really comfortable.
