Same thing was told to me. Sleep lab, after first study and again after titration, diagnosed me severe. When I saw my sleep doc for the first time, he diagnosed me high moderate. When I asked him about the differing assessments he said that sleep labs count differently--that they count things that he doesn't consider when assigning a severity level. (Mine # was 31 which, I guess, is just over the line into severe).
What's the difference in the scoring mean? He told me but I had no idea what he was talking about at the time.

During my 1st sleep study I had 76 episodes in in 5.36 hours which amounts to 14.3 per hour and in my 2nd study I had 168 episodes in 3.71 hours which amounts to 45.28 per hour. So . . . hmm . . . can't say right now. I will be starting xPAP shortly with the S8 AutoSet II and am hoping that by pushing the left and right buttons I'll be able to get a reading to give me a better idea - plus I'll be going for another sleep study.

mine was 86 per hr

AHI 90.2 minimum O2 was 77% total test time was only 2 hours due to other sleeping issues i had 197 events in that time lasting 13 seconds to 48 seconds with cpap treatment i had 3 events with an AHI of .7

Okay for Rock and the other professionals on board a quick question.
Which is worse, having fewer apneas with a longer length, or more apneas of shorter duration? I have not understood that part of it. I was classified as severe by my doctor, I slept a lttle over two hours during my first sleep study and averaged 30 apneas per hour with an average length of 30 seconds. My blood oxygen drop was to 80.
