Mike,
I posted a couple questions to you on other thread.
Personal, none-of-my-business type questions :o)
I will, ASAP, re-type that long preachy unqualified medical advice filled letter I had written to you before but then deleted before posting.
In the mean time, an easy thing to do is pick out one of the most horribly unhealthy food related things that you do - you know you gotta do something bad because you’re human :o).
You are a smart guy so I know you can think of something - pick out that really bad thing (just one thing) and stop doing it so much. Example: if you are drinking 12 cokes a day. STOP IT!! lol lol lol No, really nothing even that harsh, how about cutting the 12 cokes down to one a day and increasing water or unsweet tea up to about 11 cups a day.
Swap out one bad thing.
It sounds so stupid but the reality is - it might just be a perfect place to START.

Night nite everyone
Barbara
the update is bleak. i've actually put on weight since my original post. my wife is 8 months pregnant, and she's getting bigger. I think it's contagious because I am too! she has these cravings that i want to indulge in with her -- like ice cream and pasta. stuff like that. could it be that this is the reason i'm gaining, or am i just making excuses for myself?
After something I read here yesterday, I joined sparkpeople.com and started entering my food diary. Yesterday's meals were very revealing. I think this could work for me if I can keep recording and tracking. We have the same breakfast every morning, so that will make things easier--oat groats that we cook overnight in a small crockpot with water and apple juice as the liquids. In the morning we add walnuts, blueberries, fresh pineapple, flaxseed we grind in a coffee grinder, and cinnamon. Somehow my husband and I never get tired of this. It's a good start to the day. Hope I can get control of the rest of my day. I think I'm going to have to measure my portions. I have a problem not feeling satisfied after eating a reasonable portion of something delicious. I must slow down. Drinking water is also an area I need to work on.
