Hi everyone, I am a Grad ID (product design) student in Pasadena California where we are currently working on a sleep project. My group and I have designed a questionnaire to help us better understand sleep as a whole. We were wondering/hoping you could all help us by taking a few minutes (3-5) to fill out this questionnaire. All answers are completely anonymous. If you have any other advice, suggestions or stories you would like to share regarding good, bad or just plane on sleep that would also be greatly appreciated.

Here is the link to our questionnaire.

If it is inappropriate to post it here, please let me know and I'll remove this immediately.

Thank you very much.

perfectly appropriate to post this here. would you mind sharing the results with us of this survey?
We are more than happy to share our result to everyone. It will end in several weeks and we will share our result with you. Thank you for taking the survey.

Thank you for your time. It is really helpful.

I filled out the survey. It was quick and painless.
I have filled it out ----

but I think some of the questions are ambigious should have been worded better. Some of us fall between the cracks on the answers and no one answer fit the bill.

For example do you snore? Without cpap -- yes, with it no. Which answer do you want -- with or without cpap? I answered no since I don't with my cpap.

Hope the answers help you in your journey through class.
Thanks for your advice sleepycarol. This is our first time doing this kind of questionnaire so any suggestion would be really helpful for us. We'll tried to make this kind of ambiguities as few as possible next time.

Phil, I filled out the survey and will make some comments. One, be aware that most of us use CPAP and the symptoms of sleep problems have been eliminated by CPAP therapy.

Two, some of us are absolutely astounded by the great blind spot that the medical field has had toward sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). I will quote what one of my GPs told me, "We put a sleep lab on our second floor. For years, we have been treating out patients for heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression and anxiety. We treated the symptoms. We put in a sleep lab in order to get at the root cause - sleep-disordered breathing." Unfortunately, much of the medical profession is still blind to SDB.

When I was diagnosed with sleep apnea five years ago, it was common to read that 2 to 4% of males had SDB. I have watched those numbers steadily grow and now am seeing estimates as high as 25% of the population of both sexes. IMO, if the truth is ever known, it will be that more than 50% of the population will have problems with SDB at some point in their lives.

Good luck with the project.
