Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, and would appreciate any advice that you all could provide (seems like there's a lot of good people on here!)

My father was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea (his AHI came back at 15). He could afford to lose a little weight, and I understand that weight loss is the surest way to overcome sleep apnea.

Has anyone had success using meal planning to lose weight? If so, can you recommend any good meal plans (maybe point me in the direction of a good website)?

Unfortunately for many weight loss will not "cure" our sleep apnea. Being overweight, for many aggravate the sleep apnea and losing weight means they can typically lower their pressure requirements.

I lost 30 pounds using the Slimfast shakes and following a low carb diet. I have added some of that weight back since school started, but am planning on going back on it so that I can help some of the other health issues I have.

Good luck to your dad. I encourage him to lose weight, but do realize weight loss may not overcome his sleep apnea.
thats a good start however there is no garnantee that weight loss will work there is a strong possiblity that it may work but no gauntee

you have got to eat to lose weight eat plenty of salads etc also a glass of water half an hour before meals is a good idea.

I friend of mine lost a lot of weight with the meal plans in South Beach Diet, both in the book and on-line. He has been able to stay on South Beach Diet for a couple of years.
