how should we identify ourselves as people with sleep apnea/ those of us who use CPAP? Hoseheads? Apneans? PAPers?

As a guy with an previous Ebay Tshirt shop...that failed miserably...there is not a market for them, at least not on Ebay.
Market for disgusting sexual innuendo= YES
Market for amusing CPAP attire= NO
You could go with "Hoser" or if you're into the PC thing, you could go with "Nocturnal Respiratorily Challenged", though that's even worse than just saying, "Person with Apnea."
I'm officially worthless.

I kind of like SAD. Sleep Apnea Disorder.
It was really really funny at work today. Of course it was lost on everyone but me as I didn't have time to explain. :)
We were talking about the beautiful day and I told a friend of mine in the cafeteria that I wished I had OSA. She looked at me weird and said "what". I repeated it -- with the same error -- I wish I had OSA. She said "what in the world are you talking about?" I looked dumbfounded and realized my mistake and corrected it and said "I wish I had OSS" (Out of school suspension). I had to chuckle over that one.

I've been thinking about this conversation ever since it was put up. I've seen a # of different styles of shirts online, none of which I'd buy. They're kind of....I don't know what, but I don't care for them.
Seems to me, given all the confusion and misunderstanding of the seriousness of apnea, and if we're hoping to raise awareness and educate others........that maybe we could give some thought to calling it what it is rather than try to be creative and funny. At least on ONE side of the shirt. The other side could be a funny phrase.
OR, we could have two different types and give ourselves and other people a choice of going fun or more serious.
I also wonder if we might want to consider putting SleepGuide.com on there somewhere. If SG's gonna sell 'em, we may as well promote the site!!
Still on my mind. I'd really like to have a shirt and a t-shirt (for myself) that promote the education piece.....what do you guys think?

RESTED =
Respiratory
Enhanced
Sleep
Therapy
Enriching
Dreams
Not sure this is exactly it, but maybe good first stab. Someone else run with it a little.

Charley, I like the second one because it says "respiratory-enhanced sleep therapy" which is entirely accurate AND an attention-getter!! And the "enriched dreams" are like icing on the cake!!!
PLUS, with so much of the population overtired anyway, not necessarily because of sleep apnea but certainly including it, the word "RESTED" is also a good attention-getter. Sure could start some conversations with THAT word!!!
The acronym idea is a good one.............
