Almost afraid to believe it......
Check THIS out, you guys. I just got up from my 3rd night in a row of sleeping over 7 hours, last night 8 hours+!!!!! And dreaming more and more every night.
I felt kinda, almost normal when I got up this a.m. !
I've felt like crap for so long. ForEVER, it seems. Continued to feel like crap on CPAP but kept going 'cause I'm so scared of apnea now. Felt mildly better the past month or so but still mostly like crap.
Been on CPAP and 100% compliant for nearly 4 months--went slowly from 3-4 hours a night to 4-5 hours to 5-6 hours and stayed there for a long time. No dreaming EVER. The past 3 nights, dreams started and continue to increase, and last night = 8 FULL HOURS with a LOT of dreams.......
Now all of a sudden, after all this time, Bingo!! Is that possible, to just get there all of a sudden?
Is this the real thing? Do you guys think I've actually turned "that" corner?????
EEeeeeeeeeeeeek, I'm trying not to get too excited 'cause it's just so hard to believe.....!

First, I am sooooo happy that you are starting to feel better. That is really terrific news!
Am curious, what is the significance of starting to remember dreams? I dreamt last night, but I also periodically have remembered dreams before starting CPAP (now two weeks).

Jan, my understanding is that dreams occur during deep restorative sleep, so if you're not dreaming you're not reaching that deep level of healing sleep on a regular basis. I haven't dreamed for so long I can't remember when. The ones I used to have were weird, not nightmares, but just weird. Unlike those I've had most of my life. The ones I'm having the past 3 nights are just normal dreams (well, as normal as anything that would be in MY mind could be!!! LOL )....
That's what I've come to understand, I know someone on here will tweak it to the reality!!

Thanks, Mary! I'm sure hoping this holds. If it does, it's been a long time coming. I told my son (43) this a.m. "If I get back to being who I really am, I'm gonna be hard to live with", and he said, "Mom, you're hard to live with NOW!" ROFL He knows me way too well!!

That is wonderful!!! I remember how much better I felt after I went on my c-pap. Unfortunately, I had to have a heart attack before anyone noticed that "maybe" something might be wrong.

Sounds like your clicking on all cylinders!!! That's great to hear. Sounds like you've repaid the sleep debt as well.
You now have no problems with sleep and have become boring to me. (kidding...kidding)

Thanks for the congrats, Sharon. I was diagnosed with CAD 4 years ago right now. I was lucky and avoided a heart attack, but had 2 blockages, one about 95%, the other can't be stented because of where it is. If it gets cranky I'll have to have a bypass. But not today!!
Doesn't it make you wonder which came first, the heart stuff or apnea? Boy, I do. For me I know it was apnea 'cause I've had sx for years.....

Good news on the dreams! It sounds like your're getting better at this!
This week I've had a few dreams, and it's really exciting. B.C. (Before CPAP), I rarely had or remembered dreams. My sleep study showed only one REM cycle all night.
So, it's very encouraging to be dreaming and knowing that you're getting to that restorative sleep stage.
