cpap pressure setting for UARS???????
curious as to what pressures, typically, UARS patients experience relief......a pressure of 7cm works for me in SWS sleep (deep) but not so much in REM.....ready to start cranking it up.

Autos are not the answer Rock is right, but it's what the Doctors that dont have good sleep labs can do as a stop gap, or a temp. fix. I stand by what I said. The Doctor /Doctors I work for are even more passionate than I when it comes to AUTO-PAPs. I suggested trying a auto tritration and allmost lost my job!!! so, it's more a policy than preference!

I would never walk into your job and claim to be better at it than you, yet that is what many people on these sites do to me and the other techs everyday.

"sorry duane, YOU ARE WRONG! have you used a ZEO? have you even heard of a ZEO before this discussion? the ZEO sleep monitor does work very well. the daily results i get mirror the results from my numerous PSG's. As patients we appreciate all of the useful information we get from the many professionals in the industry who comment on this site. however, in this case you are doing more harm than good. i'm sure you have a vast knowledge of sleep disordered breathing and all of the possible treatments, but in this case you are commenting on something that you obviously do not know much about..... it's not a zero or a zoe (sense of humor?) it's a ZEO."
the only way to be 100% sure that the ZEO works is to wear it during a psg and compare the data. If your stage REM is still fragmented then your therapy is not where it should be. No this is not rocket science, but spending money on unproven technology does not make you a genius either.
"um, that sounds like a lot of work" Mollette and the rest of us would have interpreted your data for free had you just taken the time to post it. the fact that you put more faith into an unproven machine than you do a person trained to do the job of that machine says something.

I am having fun. i did not mean to be snappy. i went out with the guys last night. My head hurts today. Without wearing the zeo during a psg there is no way to tell if it is accurate or not. i have not been able to find any data showing that this has been done. until then to me it would be a waiste of money. that is just me though. Further investigation leads me to question the validity of the data provided by the machine. Why you ask? Well I will tell you. First the electrical signal given off by the brain is weak to say the least. In a PSG the electrodes have to placed directly on the scalp to pick up a decent signal. The idea is to get as close to the brain as possible. The band is worn over the hair. Next the band only covers the frontalportion (FP), Temporal (T), and the Occipital (O) portions of the head. This is more of a seizure montage then that used for sleep. Deep sleep is identified by viewing the signal from the central (C), and frontal (F) portions of the brain. The zeo seems to ignore both of these.

If anyone want's to have a simple contest me VS "ZOE" I would be willing, but Let's make it interesting. Let's see if the Human can score/analize better than a machine. I challenge "ZOE" to a "SCORE OFF" I'll even do it with one hand tied behind my back! and a patch over one of my eyes! BRING IT ON!!!!

i never said the ZEO was as accurate as a sleep study. it is not remotely close to the accuracy of a sleep study. it is NOT something one should use to diagnose a sleep breathing disorder. by advocating it's use, i in no way am challenging the validity or importance of the job that you all do as techs. what i am doing is trying to tell others that it does what it claims to do and that it has helped me. that is all. if you go on there web sight you will find scientific evaluations were the ZEO was compared to a PSG. and no, i don't work for zeo. cheers, sleepsurfer

Yes and I'm sure that every Website That is advertising a product, says favoriable things about threr product , that they wish to sell........I want You and everyone else on this site to get better. Sometimes New products are great ideas but they just dont work. I have seen many of these come and go. I will continue to question any product that claims to do something that is imposible! I will not profit by doing this, do you see my point. I do my job , help others when I can, and go home and go to sleep.
