In 1 more month I will be a 1 year veteran of sleepguide.com. I was never one of those guys that thought I could get into an online site. Just never saw it as my cup of tea, you know? Man was I wrong. This site has become my extended family, if not changed my life. It is truly one of many great finds that began with my wife. Who would have thought that a simple unthought-of thing like sleep could be so much fun, and bring such a large group together? I think of many of you each and every day. This last year has been one of the most challenging and entertaining years of my life.

 THANKS SLEEPGUIDE!

I believe this to be one of my first posts on SG: At least it was the earliest I could find anyway. I know I’m a big ole sap. My girls call me “big sissy”.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that I have officially teamed up with Mike Goldman, and the sleepguide crew to offer a new sleep service. This new service that Mike and I have set up (Mike did it!) will offer one on one sleep coaching sessions with a qualified sleep technologist. I am very excited to be the first tech to sign up with Mike. The site will be offered through sleepsearch.com in the “premium services” section.

I agree with you, Rock. The support here and the on line friends I have made have given me so much support and useful information.
Good luck in your partnership with Mike on the one on one sleep coaching sessions. I sure appreciate the trememdous committment of time and energy you, Mike, and many others make to the forum.

Thanks Mary

I just want to help people sleep again 99. I often wonder what happens to my patients when they leave the lab. Did they get the support they needed? This is my opportunity to help people on a much different level. The service will offer sleep and PAP troubleshooting as well as help with understanding the data from the machine. I want to help people find a good healthy balance between effective PAP treatment and good sleep.
Just want to add my Congratulations! and Thanks! Though I haven't asked you anything directly so far, I always try to read your posts for tips and perspective, and your sense of humor. I'm reviewing your "original" post thoroughly now; hadn't discovered it before. I am trying to figure out my therapy for OSA/CSA or complex or CompSA or what ever they want to call it! I keep "mining" the site and others for relevant info, then trying to figure out how and if it applies to me. Though I've made definite progress, mostly thanks to you and others on SG, I think I have a long way to go. It seems the current USA medical establishment is just not set up to provide the type of ongoing and detailed support many folks need to work through adapting to and maximizing their therapy, and the forum fills many of the gaps. The new service will no doubt add another option to the extra support sometimes needed. Good luck to all with that.
I know exactly what ur saying rock. I feel great when i hear another tech talk like this. I work with several techs who are just there for the paycheck. As for myself i love what i do and i really do care about my patients. I have patients who request me for the 2nd appt (titration) and it feels good. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all your help on SG Rock. You are the best, and I wish you the best in your new venture as well. I am always so impressed by the way you and Mike reach out to people each and every day to help with OSA.

I can't believe it but I will have one year in April on SG as well. You are right about the wonderful extended "virtual" family we have. bee
I have some repeat patients as well. My sleep program is pretty big though. We currently have 26 beds spread out through 4 labs with a 22 bed lab set to open by the end of the year. I have had some people track me down here though. It is a good feeling.

Thanks Bee, RL, and Mary. I appreciate your kind words.

Congrats on your first year Rock! In the short time I have been here I have greatly appreciated your help both in public and in private. You care about people and it shows and, beyond job expertise, that is the most important quality a health care professional can have. Keep up the good work!
Just this morning I thought, "Oh, how I wish there was a hotline of sorts I could call for reassurance and guidance that I will find the right mask, that I will learn to live with my apnea...but how could something so specialized exist?" Therefore, I think this is a stupendous idea! Good work, Mike and Rock.

I wake up more than 60 times an hour and think I'm suffering from sleep-apnea depression. Every night as of late I'm like, "Just try, Ross. Try to sleep with the mask on. If you fail, it's not your fault. You'll get it. You'll find the mask that works. It may take time and effort but you'll succeed." But I haven't worn the mask to bed for over a week, since I just can't seem to get through the night with it.

I just need to get a little money together and I will make a phone appointment.

Thanks,
Ross
You can always post your questions here as well. It is not a one on one session, but do not doubt the knowledge of the members here. Make no mistake "The Sleep Coach" Will not take away from my time here on sleepguide. I will always be available to my friends and new members.

I am tired of my friends and family being treated like defendants and plaintiffs.this new service will offer a personalized touch to your sleep therapy. I will look at your current PAP data to help you troubleshoot your therapy. We will look at your sleep environment, and hygeine. Together we will look at the changes that need to be made to get full benefit from your sleep. We will also work together to figure out what questions need to be asked of your doctors to achieve 100% restoritive sleep. If your doctors do not cooperate Mike and I will help you find one that is willing to work with you. I truly believe that this service will pick up where the current system leaves off.
Thanks, Rock. I just posted a separate discussion detailing more of my struggle. This Web site has been quite wonderful, indeed.
