After receiving my ResMed VPAP auto 25 yesterday, i called an online retailer to purchase the software.

I was told that as of several months ago Resscan is no longer being sold.

Is that correct? And if it is, might it be available from another country? What version would be best?

I often wondered what the differences were between the versions? Is there an article somewhere that would differentiate them? Is there a replacement planned? Thank you!

Claudette, I bought the ResScan software as a download from eBay. Version 3.7 for $2.95. It downloaded and installed without a hitch. I bought the connector that hooks to the back of the machine (not the card reader though either would work) from cpap.com. It wasn't cheap. There was one for sale on cpap auction for much less. You could watch that site. I worried that downloading the data from the machine would erase the machine data, but it does not. Get version 3.7 of the software. So far I don't know if replacement software version is planned, but I have the same machine as you and 3.7 works fine. Good luck. Let us know if you have more questions.

I think i can answer my own question now to some extent...i called Resmed..which i should have done first...the software is still available....to clinicians only ....and even when i tried to explain that i was a clinician of sorts...(depending on one's point of view) .only not in sleep medicine...i was denied. I told them that I thought they should make it available to the public and was told that their decision was governed by the FDA regs....and recalled Judy bringing this comment up not that long ago....Well, I gave my opinion as to my disagreement with that position....my sense was that they have heard all this before....and altho they were polite... i see no support coming... there ,may also be new software being issued sometime next year. I am not certain if it will be compatible with current models...i neglected to get clarification on that...i was told that the 3.7 version is the one to use with my new machine...so thanks if you read all this and sorry that i didnt investigate further first.....I''m heading overseas I guess.....
Thanks Mary...great price for the 3.7! Claudette

Claudette, I agree that access to the VPAP Auto 25 record should be available to end users, but don't let that impede your progress w/ PAP therapy. With or without ResScan, put your efforts into making friends with your mask/machine system.
Thank you Rock..that is exactly what i intend to do...I became concerned about eventually being able to get resscan because an online dealer told me it was no longer available....but i plan to start with the mask and understanding the machine....I appreciate your input....it helps......claudette

Yeah. The nice thing about that machine is that it gives so much info from the screen. The software printouts can be useful, but in my opinion, the info from the screen is enough for most people with that brand.

You can get your doc to prescribe the software for you if you really need it. Or you can find other places to get it. OR, another option that has worked for some is to see if your DME is willing to have you hand them your card and wait for them to print out your reports for you once a month or so. Do that a couple of times to see if it is actually worth getting the software yourself after that. My guess is that you will end up mostly using the data from the machine's screen. I have the software and have used it several times, but I go months without using it when the data from my screen is as it usually is.
