Poli Grip strips
Has anyone used these to stop the mouth breathing? If so, good or bad experiences? Best way to use them?? As usual, thanks again for all the great advice!!

I just got my chinup strips in the mail yesterday. Forgot I had them till just now, so I'll try to remember to use them tonight. I'm still dealing with the mouth leak issue. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere.......lol

I am just trying to find a cheaper alternative to the chin-up strips even though I really like them and they work great! Let me know what you think.

This is actually the website I found out about them. I am just keeping all my options open since I am definitely a mouth breather and love my Resmed Swift LT. I really don't want to change masks.

I haven't used the PoliGrip strips. I read abou them first at apneasupport.com - but - I have used PoliGrip Denture Gel. Just a thin layer on the lips from corner to corner and they worked well for me as I don't open my mouth so much as I just get those doggone "lip flutters". One night I acutally whistled out of the corner of my mouth. I mean a SHRILL whistle like I was calling the dog!!! And then two lessor whistles. The first one woke me up w/a start!!! The second caught me off guard just as I was falling back asleep and the third one occurred whilst I was laying there prior to going back to sleep but a little more awake than when the second occurred. It hasn't happened since.
Anyway, IF you need to open your mouth when using the PoliGrip gel you easily can, and to reseal your lips you just need to dampen them w/your tongue and press them together again. The PoliGrip Denture Gel is made to go in your mouth between denture and gums and roof of your mouth so it is safe in that respect as well.

When I google this I only find "cream". Is the "gel hard to find? What does it taste like?

Eh, maybe it is PoliGrip Denture Creme instead of Gel. My memory isn't perfect. It doesn't really have any taste.

By the way, the PoliGrip Denture Cream tip isn't effective for keeping your mouth shut if you are actually opening your mouth, but works great for the air that escapes thru your lips (the lip flutters). However, my understanding is that the PoliGrip Denture Strips are effective for keeping your mouth closed.
