thinking of spiffing up this place design-wise... what do you guys think of this instead of what we've got now?

What I like about the new banner is the 3D quality, especially the earth image and the crispness of the words. If the pink could be lightened a touch, that might make it work better with the soft tones in the earth image. This is a design tweek that would really take looking at to tell if it would work. The cloud, as is, gives a nice friendly quality to me, like a soft cozy place to sleep, and being the only pink image in the banner, it certainly draws the eye to the logo. I like the sky color, but a deeper midnight blue might be nice too. I would favor having the night field faded so that the deepest part was at the top, with the lower part where the words are about as it is now or slightly lighter. The night sky is a beautiful image to me as I recall my years in rural Arizona where the vivid milky way was very bright and 3D, a comforting image, but not so familiar to city dwellers.
YES! Oh boy. We're going to have to do some surgery on the logo for sure.

With the pink cloud, are men still welcome to post here?
RL--I agree with you about the darker sky. And, I'm not crazy about the pink cloud. The rest of it looks so......I'm not sure--authentic comes to mind. The pink cloud just doesn't seem to fit the premise of the whole thing..

Only my opinion.......you're the first person besides me that I've seen post about the darker sky.....a lot of people like it. And a lot like it the way it was before. So this is an interesting Discussion! As far as I'm concerned, Mike can put Gumby on there, and I'll still be coming around!

I do like the new font better.
ok, we've adjusted it yet further, as you can see. would be interested in feedback, positive or negative.
the great bear or plough is not pointing to the new north star, it is pointing north west

go and take an actual photo of the north star

or find something with the north star in and the constellations will be correct

by the way great north star

I think we have artistic license not to be astronomically correct with the background image for the logo ;-)

This is an improvement over the last try. It isn't so stark and rigid. In my opinion it is more inviting. Did you try putting the link to the other site on top like the other?
Glad you like it better than the last one Sleepy Carol. You and I go way back with this place, huh? Even as we update our appearance, the important thing is that we not lose sight of the core values that were behind this place from the get go.

As for the link to sleepsearch.com, we will work on that next.

Yep Mike.

We go back a ways don't we with the site. It is hard to believe that it has grown so fast!!

I joined in its infancy and it is growing by leaps and bounds!! Sort of like a baby -- sound familiar Mike?
spiffing design
oh gosh, I hope my little baby girl doesn't grow up as fast as this place!
