Mumble, Grumble, Thyroid Biopsy Monday
As you may all have figgered out by now, I'm not really happy UNLESS I have something to gripe about. *wicked grin*
Yeah, well, the hospital called yesterday and despite being AMAZINGLY helpful and accomadating, managed to make me happy be giving me something to gripe about in return.
The aspiration biopsy is scheduled for 9 AM. BUT - I have to be to the hospital at 7 AM!!! On a cold, frosty November Michigan morning! I am NOT a morning person! I don't DO mornings, especially COLD mornings!!! I'm supposed to be there the 2 hours early because I have to have blood drawn. What they hay??? WHY can't we do the blood draw Friday or even Saturday before noon?? But that's not all!
The night before I have to shower w/an anti-bacterial soap. Say what? My husband likes Zest so I haven't used any soap but Zest for the last 40+ years!!! I don't even know if Zest is an anti-bacterial soap or not - so I, who HATE to shop, must run into town and find an anti-bacterial soap. But that's STILL not all!!!
I have to shower again the next MORNING! The MORNING of that 9 AM procedure that I have to be at the hospital at 7 AM for that means I have to leave the house at least by 6:30 AM for. So I take this nice, hot shower - and then have to go out in a COLD, frosty, November Michigan MORNING at this unGodly 6:30 AM hour.
Mumble, grumble. Any one of these things is bad enough - but to go out in the COLD, after a nice, HOT shower, that early in the MORNING?? These guys are SADISTS! Cruel, mean, vicious SADISTIC demons, I tell you! I sure mustta been one mean, miserable, nasty witch in my previous life to deserve this!!!
Besides - I'm not a punctual person. I'm a procrastinator. I'm habitually late for everything. I'll be late for my own funeral. The hearse will have an accident. 6:30 in the morning???? 6:30 on a COLD Michigan morning?? Cruel and sadistic, I tell ya, CRUEL and SADISTIC. They HATE me!

BBRRRRRRRR ! What a way to start the day ! I am right there with you about those early morning appointments !%#&*! And you've got other outlandish indignities on top of that ! Oooh my . . .
I read something in a Buddhist magazine a while back. In an article, it was mentioned that some people’s trials and tribulations aren’t based on the wicked stuff they did before, rather it is because they were SO highly involved and good in their past life that they can now withstand the caflue lot that is bestowed upon them now – so that their mishaps are because they are already so VERY GOOD.
So, from all the good will that I have seen you dedicate to the SG forum, I think you must be amongst the VERY GOOD ! Yep - that must be it !

Judy, I agree with Renee, you must have been very, very good in your past life . The folks at the hospital are probably not much happier than you as they have to beat you there, but gosh I my sympathies are with you. Can someone take you so you can at least share the misery? At least it's not your funeral!
Seriously I do empathise- I'm in Virginia and our mornings right now are in the 50 degree range. My dogs have to wait for at least 60 degrees for their walk. Not Michigan by a long shot.

I agree with Judy. I live in Missouri and our mornings can be cold and miserable. The days are still warming up, but the mornings are cold already and I am finding with age, I hate the cold even more!! I can feel your pain Judy!! I HATE mornings. Much prefer that nothing start much before 10 a.m. Of course school starts before that so I have to get out in it -- but I am just waiting for retirement so I can sleep in and hibernate. lLOL

Yeah! HIBERNATE! Like an old she-bear. And bears have some mechanism that protects them from osteoporosis despite they sleep all winter and miss all that vitamin D!
Goshes, visions of Pregnant Bear Serum for osteoporosis just popped into my head, like Pregnant Mare Serum for .....

Hey Judy. Glad you get to have your thyroid biopsy. I can't figure out the "shower with antibacterial soap" thing. I didn't have to do that. I went in over a lunch hour for my thyroid biopsy, had it done then went back to work. What the hey? Maybe we are more "lax" here in Colorado. :>D Or maybe you ARE a dirty ole' woman..... :>D LOL
I AM a morning person, I am up at 5:15 am in the dark.....more energy than any other time in the day. But I DO HATE THE DARK! I get up in the dark and leave work in the dark...YUCK.
Best to you Miss Judy on your biopsy. My second biopsy is schedule for Dec. 3rd. This time I am prepared for what is to come.

Yeah, but look at these FNAs this way, Bee. at least we still have our thyroid and so far not malignant. Both of these are always good news in my book. I always hate partiing w/part of my body, even my appendix, cause I figger God put them there for a reason. They blackmailed me to get my appendix, wouldn't do the tubal ligation unless I agreed to letting them take my healthy appendix too. Took me a year and a 5th pregnancy scare to cave in.
