CPAP NOISE DRIVES ME CRAZY
I still have a problem dealing with hearing my breathing and the noise of the machine as I sleep. Anyone else had this problem?

Depends on the mask. I have three mask, one is really loud the other two I can hardly hear. The loud one I have is the nose pillow type. Every time I breathe out it makes this loud breathing sound.

I do all three of these: place the machine below the level of the top of your mattress; use a hose cover; and run a small fan on low.

3 things you can do to solve noise issue:
One is to put on a fan in the room & the white noise puts me to sleep.
Two is to get a night table from Ikea that has several shelves inside the table & put the machine in there down below bed level. Just mask sure there is enough air in the space.
Three-try ear plugs
I find one of these 3 solutions usually works.

It is a very common problem with certain machines. ResMed makes the quietest machine on the market. That is one of their big selling points. This is the cadillac in my opinion of CPAP Machines that is very quitet.. http://1800cpap.com/resmed-s9-elite-cpap-machine-h5i-humidifier-cli...
If a DME company provided you with the machine now, depending on how long you had it you should ask them to get you one of these machines. They won't be happy about it but they are supposed to be there for you. Good Luck!

I bought this CD called ""Pure White Noise" The Voice of Earth off Amazon.com and play it at night. It drowns out the cpap/breathing noise and distracts me from it

My Remstar machine makes no noise, I have a felt hose blanket(eliminates rainout too) and the Swift Mirage I nasal pillow mask is very quiet. The Swift II is 50% or more quiet yet,( but did not vent as readily for me.) I also, like others, use a small fan in the room, often directed at my face from a distance, because the chinstrap w/ mask on top can get hot.
I also have a free-standing air conditioner in the room, because I had to sleep days to work nights. I know it's a cost, but in the summer especially, they're great. It's an EdgeStar, really quiet and was about $340 I think w/ free shipping. It has a remote and vents out the window w/ panel- kit, and has a dehydration setting, so it's cool without using lots of energy.

I can't hear my machine. Oh there is a little sound when it starts, but then I don't even notice.
I have a full mask - mouth and nose. I have had to pull it off my face a little to make sure it was working a few times. So maybe it depends on which machine you have.
