Hi Dee--the video is on the SG facepage. It's the one titled "Hard to Watch", per Mike.

I'm amazed to hear how many people are telling me they still have bad nights followed by good nights and vice versa....I don't understand why that is..I REALLY appreciate your input.

Melba, why do you think there's such a combination of good and bad nights after being on CPAP for awhile? I just don't get that. I've only been at tx for 4-5 weeks now, so I understand there's a lot I don't know, but it makes me want to doubt my progress when I have a bad night after a couple of good ones. Everyone's saying the same as you, so I think I still have a lot to learn!! Thanks for your input.

Yes indeedy....Eight hours is soooo good. I have been on CPAP for 6 months. Many more great nights of sleep than poor. Some nights of course can still be a challenge. I can list 25 aspects of my life that improved only three days after getting consistent sleep. No more naps....either. It was really weird when I was used to feeling compelled to take a nap at 3 in the afternoon....and then no longer needed it. I have gained lots of real awake time. Congratulations. Believe it!
I am proud of you Susan, keep doing that, do not give up. It pays very very well.
Thanks, Doc!! Considering the fact that I have yet to get into my new sleep M.D., everything that comes to me from YOU is gold. I won't give up. I want to live.

I just had my first full night's sleep with mine about 3 weeks ago, I was so stoked! Just wait, before long you'll be OVER-sleeping in it! ;)
Omigod, if the day ever comes that I'm OVER-sleeping, I'll be orgasmic!! Seriously, I have no idea what that will be like, but I'm ready to find out. (By the way, I love your screen name. I'm gonna send you a friend invitation!!

Thank you for the encouragement and the hope, Miss Tush!!

I have discovered that I needed to force myself into a sleep schedule and stick to it. When I started my CPAP about 3 months ago I was excited when I started sleeping though the night. I went to bed at 10:30pm looking forward to waking up at 6:30am, which is when I normally would drag myself into the shower to prepare for work. I found I had more energy and wasn't sleepy all day at work. After a few weeks my wife commented that I was spending more time on projects around home and less time zonked out in my Lazy-Boy....plus I wasn't napping all evening while spending time with my family. Having always been a night owl I soon started to slip and started going to bed later and later....next thing you know I was in bed at midnight and pushing myself into the shower at 6:30 again....and I was starting to feel drowsy at work again. As much as I wanted to blame the heat of summer I figured out by cutting my sleep time short I was not getting the rest my body needed. I have recently started going back to bed around 10:30 and am trying to get back on a set schedule.
Hi Dave--how long did it take you on CPAP to begin sleeping through the night when you put yourself on a sleep schedule? Maybe I should think about doing that. I'm a night owl too, but I'm retired and don't have to get up at a certain time. I wonder if it matters what time we go to bed if we DON'T have to get up for work, kids, etc. (?)

I've been on CPAP for, I think about 5 weeks and have slept 8 hours one time, 6 another time. Other than that, I'm at 4-5 hours a night which is far from enough for me to feel good, much LESS recover from years of sleep deprivation. Whatta 'ya think???

Fantastic!
Thanks Julia. I'm bound and determined to keep my hope going! I appreciate your support!

I think it helps me to have a set schedule that I do not vary. I go to bed at 9:00-9:30 and get up at 5:30-6:00 each and every day. I work so I don't have to do that on the weekends, but I do anyway. I make sure to get physical exercise so I am actually tired and not just mentally fatigued so my brain doesn't keep bouncing around. I always sleep the entire night, I have from the first. I wake up for a few seconds around 2:00am and sometimes around 4am, but am right back to sleep. Maybe it is the schedule, and the exercise.

Best of luck to you on your journey to sleep! You are on your way.
Thanks, Bee! I'm giving this some serious thought. I just hate to give up late night reading. I love it. But I s'pose I could adapt.....do you think the actual time I pick has any impact on a scheduled bedtime? I'm retired and don't have to get up any certain time. I'm just wondering if I could schedule but schedule late, like midnight which is usually close to when I go to bed now. Do you have any thoughts about that?
