I didn't know about THIS benefit!!! My BP has dropped dramatically in the past month (been on CPAP x 2.5 months) BP was pretty stable on Rx prior but now has dropped to an average of 80+/60+!!!!! I've been wondering why! I think I'll cut my Rx in half and see what happens. I'm also trying to resume my regular walking program. I'm a long way from being where I was but making headway. That will have an impact on BP as well.
Wow!! This is good news for any of us who have heart disease AND apnea.........

I hear this way too much unfortunately.
There is such a strong link between heart disease, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension with regards to sleep apnea. (worst sentence I've ever written. It's the best I can do and it still sucks)
My friend who is in his third year of residency (he's much smarter, taller, and better looking) says that they are only trained to treat the symptoms. "Here is your prescription."
What a drain and strain on the healthcare system. Just treat the underlying apnea and voila...all better.
One of our sleep specialists, Super Doc, (yes...he does wear a cape) is educating all of the primary care physicians to look for risk factors of sleep apnea and get that treated. Why is this not being taught in med school?
This is akin to wearing earplugs to "fix" a noisy washing machine. Fixes the symptom, but not the problem.
