Hi,

I know  I posted recently about the fact that I'm on cpap, but lately my mask had been leaking and I woke up a couple of times choking.

I've also been taking care of my three month old granddaughter, and a few nights had to get up to feed her.

Anyway, I feel very fatigued, my muscles hurt, almost like in a fog, and bummed out.  I had a couple days where I cried for no reason.

I have had tons of blood tests by more than one dr.  My thyroid and all other blood work is fine.

I just would like to know if apnea can cause these symptoms, and even days after the lack of sleep or interruption.

I am really scared of feeling like this.

I am having a sleep titration on Sunday night. They want to start out from scratch without a mask to start with.

When I had a study two years ago, my events were 142 an hour.

Any advice ia appeciated.

Thanks!

One side effect of sleep apnea is also depression. It sounds as though enough has been going on
with your problems with the mask, the sensation of choking, and the interrupted sleep thrown into the mix that your symptoms are not unexpected. Good luck on the tritation and try to get those mask leaks under control. Maybe your titration will show a different pressure is needed and that may also help.
Hope you get feeling better,
Mary Z.
you need good doctors as not all are equal
for starters you need a good sleep qualifed doctor
second up is a good endocrinoligist to test your blood
