American Thoracic Society Annual Meeting New Orleans This Week

The American Thoracic Society holds its annual meeting this week in New Orleans.  Pulmonologists from across the country, some specializing in Sleep, will attend.  I've been invited to be a patient speaker at one of the sessions on Sleep Apnea.  Looking forward to it. If anyone from the forum is attending and wants to meet up, let me know.

Have a great time. Are you planning on going to the June Sleep meeting in San Antonio?
Hurricanes and Gumbo!
Thanks. Right now, I am not planning to attend the June Sleep meeting in San Antonio. I know it's a good one. But i'm trying to minimize time away from the baby/wife and watch expenses (the ATS is covering my New Orleans trip)

Congratulations, Mike, that's a great honor.

Rock, I knew it was Gumbo, shrimp creole and beignet season, but he's got two weeks before Hurricane Season officially starts. Although the way the weather has been, Mike could encounter anything in New Orleans.
LOL mary, a Hurricane is a drink. They are supposed to taste better when you drink them in the French Quarter.

Darn, Rock, you're right! I should have remembered that. Never had one though (a hurricane). I love those little powder sugared donuts. Having lived in wind hurricane areas all my life I never thought of the drink. Shows how screwed up my thinking is! LOL. Which one would I rather have? No doubt about it, a drink in one of those curvy glasses.
I needed a laugh, thanks.

Mike, I don't think we have to worry about you spending conference time in the French Quarter drinking Rock's hurricanes. And I know we don't have to worry about you bringing us all kinds of new information, I can't wait till you get back. Heck, maybe you can post to us from there if you have time.
Tell'em we want easier access to and more data from our PAPs!! Tell'em those of us who want to take a more active role in our therapy want some RESPECT and cooperation, that we are not all mindless robots. Tell'em we want assistance, NOT dictators and conspirators. I'm sure we can rely on you, Mike, to be a bit more diplomatic and tactful.
here's the view from New Orleans on the eve of meeting Colin Sullivan.... enjoying a "Grenade" drink on Bourbon Street with the head of the American Sleep Apnea Association
with 20-20 hindsight, having that "Hand Grenade" frozen margarita was not that good of an idea ;-)
