Check THIS out, you guys. I just got up from my 3rd night in a row of sleeping over 7 hours, last night 8 hours+!!!!! And dreaming more and more every night.

I felt kinda, almost normal when I got up this a.m. !

I've felt like crap for so long. ForEVER, it seems. Continued to feel like crap on CPAP but kept going 'cause I'm so scared of apnea now. Felt mildly better the past month or so but still mostly like crap.

Been on CPAP and 100% compliant for nearly 4 months--went slowly from 3-4 hours a night to 4-5 hours to 5-6 hours and stayed there for a long time. No dreaming EVER. The past 3 nights, dreams started and continue to increase, and last night = 8 FULL HOURS with a LOT of dreams.......

Now all of a sudden, after all this time, Bingo!! Is that possible, to just get there all of a sudden?

Is this the real thing? Do you guys think I've actually turned "that" corner?????

EEeeeeeeeeeeeek, I'm trying not to get too excited 'cause it's just so hard to believe.....!

Susan--

Here's wishing you another night filled with pleasant and refreshing dreams!

Jan
Thank you, Jan......I'm quietly hopeful at the moment.

I find the whole "dream thing" very confusing. Sometimes I hear that dreaming is good, means your getting that deep sleep but then I'll hear if your remembering your dreams it means that you are waking up often. Because it is said that you only remember the dreams that are interrupted. "??????????!".
'Morning, Bonesigh--hmmmm, I don't know about that one. I'm sure someone on SG can clarify that for us.

I'm not remembering the content of my dreams, but I DO remember that I dreamed so I must have wakened for that to register. (?). I AM aware of some waking, sort of, but nothing that comes close to waking me up--more like a momentary awareness occasionally. It doesn't happen all the time.

Anybody understand the dream/remembering/waking issue?????

Last night 7 hours and dreaming. So far, so good......I'm kinda afraid to say that out loud!

I believe dreams are just as confusing for everyone else as well. I myself have probably given bad info on dreams as I am constantly reading about them. I am fascinated by dreams. I think for the most part dreaming is a healthy part of sleep. Dreams signify REM which is never bad. New PAP users might experience some very vivid dreams due to the newly found REM rebound caused by undisturbed sleep. Unfortuanatley you are the only one that can tell if what you are experiencing is bad or good. Meaning are you remembering more dreams because you are constantly waking due to sleep problems, or are you having better dreams because you are sleeping better. Both questions can only be answered by the beholder. Personally I experience both. I have short wierd crazy dreams when my sleep is fragmented. I have long vivd dreams on the days I allow myself to catch up. I have crazy recuring dreams that I try to chase sometimes. These are the most entertaining to me. I posted an article on dreaming here.

Well, my memory is pretty well shot. I doubt I've remembered a dozen dreams in 67 years. Thus I can't say if I'm experiencing more or less dreams since CPAP. I don't remember ever having bad dreams (i.e. nightmares) either. *sigh* I guess I'm a "dream failure". *sigh*
LMAO Judy, thanks i needed a good laugh this morning.

The only dreams I've ever remembered for longer than a few minutes have been nightmares, and mostly only the few I had as a child.

Judy, maybe it's a 67-years-old issue--I'm 67 too!!!!!!!!! (Isn't practically anything that happens anymore a post-60 y.o. event????!!!! )

I've always just remembered that I DID dream, much like what I'm experiencing the past couple of nights--BUT I haven't dreamed at all for a really long time till just now. I can only assume that's related to poor quality of sleep due to apnea catching up after all these years. (?)
