If it offers a money back guarantee, why don't YOU buy it and tell US what it's about. But, FYI - expect it to be another regurgitation of Internet articles designed to con people out of their money.

I'm curious... has anyone gone to the apneatreatmentguide.com site? There's a claim there regarding a treatment for sleep apnea OTHER than CPAP (and all the other associated "machines"). It's a paid download - has anyone paid and downloaded the book? I'm curious to see if there is actually any good information in it. I'm somewhat skeptical because he bashes all the "Cpap sites" because they're put up by companies who either make money of or are associated with CPAP type machines, then he turns around and in the same breathe says, "buy this"... Nevertheless, he does offer a money back offer and with a credit card it seems that there's very little risk to purchasing it...

Sleep Apnea has traditionally been considered a medical condition and not a disability. If you can get a different opinion from your insurer, physician, state, or whomever adjudicates disabilities - PLEASE let us know.

I would imagine this will depend on the insurance company. I am on disability and when I mentioned to my case worker that I have "also" been diagnosed with sleep apnea..." she immediately retorted "sleep apnea is not considered a disability, you do realize that, right?" Ask you employer's carrier or your human resources manager to provide the answer first.
I would not hold my breath and that’s not a joke I am still fighting for my disability with well documented chronic pain due to fibromyalgia, Peripheral neuropathy, Lumbar spine bulging disc 2-5 with degeneration., Spondylosis, dehydrated cervical to thoracic discs, Cervical disc in spine bulging, Arthritis in knees and neck, Basal joint arthritis left thumb, Knee problems that required bilateral surgical procedures last year, Migraines, Temporomandibular joint disorder or TMJ, Essential tremor, Dystonia, affecting right hand, left thigh, both feet, Periodic limb movements of sleep, Restless legs syndrome, Obstructive & Central sleep Apnea CPAP intolerant (it causes me to stop breathing as it is increased). Interstitial cystitis, Pressure palsy, Myoclonic jerking, Carpal tunnel syndrome (right arm), Ulnar Nerve Entrapment (failed surgery to repair x 2 in left arm now decrease use of left hand and arm), Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation, Fuchs Dystrophy, - increased to stage 2 of stage 5, Severe dry eye syndrome, corneal gutta, flashing lights probably secondary to vitreal syneresis, Right optic nerve pallor, of both eyes Nuerogenic Bladder, Gastro esophageal reflux disease chronic and acute, gastric polyps, and esophagitis, Supraventricular tachycardia, Chronic Insomnia, Reactive airway disease, Allergies, Hypothyroidism, Central adrenal insufficiency.

I have been diagnosis with Post traumatic stress syndrome, I have chronic Insomnia, and yes I have anxiety and am treated for Depression,

I won't even go in to surgical interventions for pain and health problems.

I was turned down in 2001 when all my neurological problems began to act up my lawyer at the time told me to not bother going before the judge my trusted doctors for over twenty years had documented so poorly it would never hold up in court. So from that day on I changed doctors, copied every medical report I could find, law in my state medical records can be destroyed after seven years, went prepared to every doctor visit with a list of questions checking off as I received an answer. Keeping an on going current new medications, diagnosis/ procedure and physician list. Drove over four hours and spent over 400.00 a visit that I could not afford at a fibromyalgia treatment center as well as saw new Rheumatologists for rediagnosis of fibromyalgia and CFS was reconfirmed as well. Began treatment at a pain center trying to get my pain in control since medications were not helping but instead had cost me my job.

I had lost almost a years work due to a new employer who thought I was not safe to work as a nurse especially around children. By my job has been already reduced to doing blood pressures at health fairs which I have to immediately write down or I forget due to short term memory loss, my pain in my back, legs and hands limit this to two to four hour time increments if I am lucky maybe once a month. I teach a video led CPR class which again I am out of luck if someone gets me off topic because of short term memory loss. This too due to pain issues is a 2 to 4 hour class once a month if needed. Sometimes I give wellness lectures but the memory loss and the confusion problems have made that a job I'll not be likely doing any more. Especially when my meds were changed to help me sleep and I forgot to go to work the one chance I had to go this month. My new employer, before she quit, she took away my promotion to run an outpatient diabetic clinic which I had been doing on a one on one basis for 20 years. I would meet with the patient and their families one time after diagnosis and help them understand the survival skills of diabetes.

When this happened I reapplied for disability, I had lost all hope. I was turned down. I retained a good lawyer my doctors have gone out of their ways filling out in detail every form. I was turned downed two more times. I waited three years to see the disability judge my lawyer said it would or should be a slam dunk with my doctors filling out the forms. I knew that day in court when the judge stopped me from telling my history how it would turn out. When he was not interested in reevaluating my forms and letters from my doctors at my lawyers specific request I knew how it would turn out. I was turned down found not creditable, my neurologist, fibromyalgia specialist and pshychtrist all found not creditable.

A doctor that I had never seen but had read my case file was found creditable and used to rule against me. Medical information that I was told could not be resubmitted in support of my case by the lady at the local social security office from my 2001 social security dismissed case was used by the judge and such as reports from a Doctors that saw me five minutes and was a General Practioner not a internist, rheumatologist, neurologist, or orthopedist not a specialist at all were allowed back into evidence and used to rule against me.

So now I am waiting for the results of my first appeal since losing my disability case. I have two more appeals when, it as I am told, will be turned sown to file again. By the way this first of three appeal process can take up to another year.

My neurologist told me he thought this is what would happen he said if I wanted to get the disability I an entitled to I need to move to another state. Oh I have lost the moneys from the state I was entitled to for job retraining. Because of the worsening of my medical condition and my doctors forms my consoler felt she had to close my case she really thought I would receive my disability. We have not been able to find an employer who would accommodate me with all my health problems since I can't guarantee I can work one day every week much less 3 to 5 days at 8 to 12 hours a day. We were trying for at home job but with my pain issues, memory issues, eye site, nerve damage in my hands. I am not a great catch. Too slow and computer illiterate. Not functional enough during peak working hours.

But hey if you do not live in Tennessee and you have all your health care providers’ records and they are meticulously accurate and a top notch efficient lawyer. You might stand a chance in 2 to 3 years of receiving your disability.

Not like me I am suppose to be happy that I could have worked some menial labor job in 2006 because there were jobs available then.
That was it that’s what the judge told me.
You have a trach and still have apnea?

I have filed for it, based on my losing my job because of work performance due to the osa. Also Dr. does not feel it is safe for me to drive so there is another strike against me. I have it bad to the point I have a treach in place and with it open still have apnea. My treachea is collapsing at night. I have been denied twice and am now awaiting a hearing. Also will have to get an attorney too.

Permanent disability is the toughest thing in the world to obtain - what you need to do is leave the country, give up your citizenship, sneak back in and holler "surprise! I'm a political refugee and I can't work!" and then you will get all the help you could possibly want.
Is that why you're in Toronto - sneaked out recently ;^)

Ha! I would love to go to Canada my mother was born and raised in Newfoundland but there’s the rub I would be in so much pain from the cold I would just be punishing my self all over again because when I got back and demand to be taken care of they would just laugh at me and tell me Yankee go home. I would be in more pain and going no where fast towards my disability claim. My mother developed breast cancer that killed her within four years she passed away at age 58 she developed this and was in a hospital for a month because of other medical problems right after my father had retired and lost his insurance. My father lived here all his life, worked full time since he was 16 years old, and was a POW in WWII. When my mother got out of the hospital I drove her to Nashville every day for chemo and radiation treatments, CT scans so the bills were piling up. I had to put my foot down while she was in a teaching hospital every resident would come in to do a history or exam on her because she had so many medical problems. We started getting little bills from these guys for $20.oo and $30.00 a history. I told the hospital no more student’s nurses or residents would be caring for my mother only her treating physicians and the nurse assigned to her. Any way I took her and my father to DHS to see if they were eligible for anything to help with their bills but because she had not worked outside the home for the last eight years she could not get anything. Before we went in I had talked to a girl in the waiting room I grew up with she was pregnant again I asked why was she there? she said she was going to lie and tell them she was separated from her husband so she could get the unborn baby on medcide and start drawing a check on him as well as her other children. As I was helping my mother in to my car she came out of the building and said it worked. It took my dad four years but he paid off that enormous hospital debt as well as me paying $400.00 a paycheck during a visits. Sometimes you just can’t win around here people.

Thank You I appreciate that. I love my job. Even though I am in severe pain and have to got to bed for a week if I work for more than five hours it is worth it because I feel I am of some value.

Hello-

depending on how long you worked for this employer, you should be able to get a health leave from work and keep current insurance.
For disability there are just a couple of requirements
1. You are unable to perform your job [ got that]
2. because of a medical condition [apnea]
3. and accepted type of treatment is not sufficient to bring you back to how you were before when performance was OK.
[you are doing level 1 [cpap] and next level [trach]

It does not matter what medical condition is the cause of your disability

You need an employment law attorney chat
Holly
yes i still have a treach in place and my windpipe collapses i have had a treacheal stent placed in 2009 but it had to be removed it was causing bacteria which was getting into my vocal cords
