Wrapping Hose around neck...
Has anyone had the similar situation, you are ready to sleep, you fall asleep and then you wake up and your hose is wrapped around your neck and maybe the machine falls to the ground and spills out water...yeah that happened to me the other night. I was sleeping and wrapped my hose around my neck, I also knocked the machine down. I'm struggling with CPAP Therapy now. I'm also very bloated in the morning. I've been fighting the day and night time monster...the daytime monster wants to put me to bed and the night time monster wants to keep me up all night. Then my doctor introduced me to Ambien and i was disconnecting my machine in the middle of the night. I also was taken off of that pill, I'm back on 100 mg of Provigil, I take it to help me stay awake at work and to get home from work.
The nuts and bolts are getting worked out, but I guess it's a start. I'm suppose to see an Insomnia Therapist, but I don't have enough sick leave saved up to take care of my problem. And I have to pay my bills.

set it all up on the floor
that way the hose will be shorter
and any bumps to your machine will be minimal

sometimes i put my machine in a shoe box and then i put vick vapor bottle with the lid of the jar slightly open for the vapor
to regulate the vapor just move the lid of the bottle
oh and also the lid of the shoe box

I also keep my machine on the floor to prevent knocking it over and spilling the water. I also understand it should be lower than your head, maybe this helps keep you from breathing in any condensation from the humidifier. I keep mine in a plastc box without a top. Never had the hose wrapped around my neck, though!

I use this hose lift. Works wonders. It sits at the head of my bed between the mattress and box spring. I can move to either side or on my back without the hose ever getting in the way. It breaks down so you may travel with it.

Bigsky--I've looked at that hose holder too and thought it would be a good idea. I was concerned that it would drag across my fact though.
So am I safe in assuming, based on your experience, that it doesn't fall on your face? If not, what keeps it from doing that?........maybe I'm picturing it differently than what it actually is when it's hooked up......or maybe it's taller than I thought it would be???
I'm gonna get one if they actually work~thanks for the info.

The picture they supply doesn't do it justice. Depending on the thickness of your mattress, it will sit about a foot and a half above the bed. The picture is showing the lift jammed under a pillow and not between a mattress. It'll work without a box spring as well.
The lift bends at the top and has a small plastic loop at the end. Since the outside of my hose is ribbed (aren't they all?), it prevents the hose from sliding thus giving just the right amount of tension but will give slack when I move my head or sleeping position.
I have noticed a huge difference with the lift. I'm always moving from my left side to my right side. I have a Swift II nasal pillow which connects the hose on the right side of my face. Without the lift, I'd always wake up when moving from the left side to the right. Now I never notice an issue when moving around. I leave my pap on my bedside table and it has never moved an inch while using the lift. I've traveled with it as well and it does fit inside my cpap bag...with room to spare.

What I did for a hose hanger was to place a couple of cup hooks on the headboard (but it could be done with a wall using the stick type that 3M has) about 3 or so feet apart. I then took a coiled badge holder and stretched between the two cup hooks. I then looped my hose through the coiled length and it will slide when I switch sides and the coiled holder will allow it to "give when moving". Has worked great for me for just a couple of dollars in material.
