Hi Chris. Thanks for thinking about me. I am still having so much PND that I feel like I am choking at times. Have been off the Levaquin for about a week and will go back Friday for a Culture to see what will work. I still am wondering if this CPAP has anything to do with this, because the drainage has really been increased since beginning using.
You might need a stronger antibiotic than a z pac.
take care.

Hello everybody. I hope everyone is off to a great new year.
Well, I had the surgery. Ended up having a bone spur and polyps which did not show up on the cat scan, as well as a deviated septum repair, and very enlarged turbinates reduced, and the old homesteading infection cleaned out. In a about 50 days, I have a flair up of a sinus infection. AGAIN. have had 26 days of Levaquin, which did nothing to rid the infection. SO apparently I have built up a resistance to that. Will have to go another route as far as antibiotics go.
I am having SO SO much sinus drainage, mostly post nasal, and I do not really remember this before starting the cpap machine. I am just wondering if anyone else out there is having this problem. (whenever we say " I wonder..." my "smart" son will say "Do you wonder or do you want to know?" which is really quite funny)
Any input is greatly appreciated, as always.
Know where I can find some kriptonite ? Is PND part of healing process?

Hello Peggy (and all),
I had chronic sinus infections, partially due to allergies, for decades. i had turbinate reduction and deviated septum repair among other more radical surgeries at the end of the last century / beginning of this one. I didn;t have a sleep study for seven or eight years. By the year before last , the apnea was back worse than ever and the turbinates were in full blossom (they can and do grow back). I take two different inhaled meds now: fluticasone and Astelin, and haven't had a cold,a bronchial infection or any other airway impairment requiring antibiotics for at least 18 monts -- touch wood! There are very few surgical interventions I haven't come to regret, or, at a minimum, view as, in retrospect, unnecessary and/or ineffective.
Hi Chris.
Good to hear from you. The PND is less, finally, after about 4 months. I still have some stuffiness. I am trying to do the saline rinse about 2 times a day. That really seems to help.
How are things going with you?
Hi Peggy, Antibiotics, steroids ,sprays, blood screenings, new med. Things dried up at present .Trying singular ....my ahi and ai numbers are lower ...just started so we will see.Gp does not want me to reschedual surgery if meds will work. Good Sleep,Chris
