I began using the CPAP two months ago and use a full face mask with a pressure of 13.  I now have a cold.  Is there any harm to the sinuses in using a mask when one has a cold?

i don't think so as long as you wash it after each use.
I've had a cold and if your sinuses are plugged, it just makes you wake up with icycle in place of your nose. I, unfortunately, have not been able to wear mine with a cold. I'm very attached to it otherwise.

I am just getting over a really bad cold with lots of green gunk in head and chest.  I started feeling icky last Thursday and by Friday was down for the count.  I went to work Monday after mostly sleeping over the week-end only to take off on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I don't tolerate a neti-pot well since I tend to "leak" for a long time after -- no matter how much I blow, which way I hold my head, etc. so don't use one.  I did use Mucinex to loosen the gunk and to make it easier to cough it up or to blow it out.  I used my machine through it as I knew I needed restorative sleep even with the cold.  I have a full face mask as a back up if needed.  I did have to get some antibotics from the doctor and am feeling better.

Thanks for the information.  Hope you feel better.
