WakeMate Sleep Device Defect - Bursting into Flames

for any of you who have it, the USB charger bricks that come with the WakeMate Sleep Device are reportedly bursting into flames, posing a major safety risk.  TechCrunch broke the story here:

maybe so... just to be clear though the WakeMate is a consumer item.
