In Need of BiPap machine
My 5yr old machine died yesterday. I am out of work and have no health care coverage. I have been searching forums for some assistance. Any ideas?

Most of the forums are not set up to provide this kind of assistance, although sometimes someone may have a machine they aren't using and may sell it at a reasonable cost.
Have you contacted any of your local community charity programs? I know at times they can provide some assistance.
Do you have your script for the machine and the settings? Your original script is good for life on most on-line suppliers. The machines are cheaper online than at your local DME stores.
You might contact your local sleep lab and see if they have suggestions as well. Check you local ads, craigslist, thrift stores, etc. At times you can pick up machines at those outlets. www.cpapauction.com is another resource and www.secondwind.com -- but you will need to have a script to purchase from them.

Yes sleepycarol I do have a current script from my doctor and a copy of my original paperwork for the machine that's now broken. Was online all day searching yesterday and found the two sites that you had linked me to. Found this site and saw the machine that Kelly had that was slightly used. I would feel more comfortable dealing with someone like her. I'm trying to send her a request to have a discussion about the machine she has posted.

talkaboutsleep.com has a limited assistance program. It is pretty much funded by sales of the TAS Cook Book so I don't know how many people they can assist but they do provide xPAPs to those in need so it is worth while to check with them. Tracy there is a great gal.

You have a fairly high pressure so you may not be able to tolerate a cpap -- others more experience hopefully will chime in with suggestions.
I use an apap, but have no experience with bipaps. I do know that I have seen bipaps for sale on craigslist. Have you tried a google search using bipap and craigslist as the search words? I know I have seen them at a reasonable cost -- of course it is buyer beware but I have had good luck using craigslist for various things.
