I was back to DME today, they still have the GoodKnight smoker cpap, and had a ResMed Auto machine today, too..it must be a little older than the one I got last year, it had bright blue trim, mine was all beige..it was $300.
They also had a Fisher Paykel humidifier but I don't remember what model or how much it was.

The Resmed beige w/navy trim? Sounds like the Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage or S8 AutoSet II. Ask how many hours are on this Resmed? I had a Resmed S8 Elite (straight CPAP) and an S8 AutoSet Vantage and LOVED them! That S8 is a great series of PAPs. Figure 8 hours a night, 365 nights a year, warranteed for 2 years, expected to last at least 5 years. Is the Humidaire 3i included w/the Resmed Auto?? I'd be inclined to go w/it if the humidifier is included in that price. It sounds like your previous Resmed might have been a S7 and the H2i integrated humidifier won't work w/the S8 series of PAPs.
Paul contact your local sleep lab. tell them your situations\. Ask about their no-call-no-show list. You may have to go in at the drop of a hat. I have set some people up with some very good deals this way.
