As part of an effort to streamline its portfolio and reallocate resources to faster-growing, higher-margin businesses, Covidien announced last week that it will sell its CPAP and bilevel sleep therapy products to PH Invest, a privately held company located in Luxembourg.

The transaction includes the company's Nancy, France, manufacturing facility and all related commercial operations in Europe.

Sleep interface products sold under the Adam, Breeze, and Dreamfit names will continue to be sold by Covidien. The company sold its sleep diagnostics and oxygen lines in 2009.

raises the question of whether any company can enter the CPAP market and stand a chance of survival in light of the market share owned by ResMed and Philips Respironics (and Fisher Paykel to a lesser extent)
Well, DeVilbiss is certainly trying. They've been putting forth great effort to get their PAPs out here and being used. They were quite active at that recent trucker's conference. I think all the manufacturers see a large future market in the truck driving industry and were all there competing for a share of that market and what do long haul truckers need. The benefit to other than long haul truckers that I see is more fully data capable PAPs and less or no compliance data only PAPs coming out of that conference.

Has Resmed even produced an S9 model that isn't fully data capable?
