I've noticed a lot of new folks joining the forum who say they "may have sleep apnea"

I wonder if any of you would share your concerns and symptoms with the forum?

What do you think the main symptoms are MaryZ?
Well, my symptoms were falling asleep on my feet at 9:00AM with my breakfast in my hands, and before that long, four to five hour afternoon naps when I was literally dead to the world.
I hear people on the forum talk about falling asleep at their desks, falling asleep driving- oh yeah, that's another symptom I had, driving while dangerously drowsy. Waking up in the night gasping for breath, not feeling rested in the morning, fatigue during the day, snoring, depression. As I said I was mainly excessively sleepy during the daytime. It made my life miserable, falling asleep during therapy appointments, needing to get rides places. Obesity, high blood pressure, cardiac complications.

In my studies, and experiences I would say that snoring is the first sign that there is a problem. Fatigue is a huge factor as well. Hypertension should be a big red alert that something is not right in your body. Some factor may not be as in your face like neck size and adiposticity.
The amount of times you wake up in the middle of the night can be a symptom as well.

Yup, for me it was the tiredness, even exhaustion at times, during the day and getting up 3-4 times during the night to make a trip to the bathroom. In fact, those were really my only symptoms.

I guess I did snore but it never bothered my husband. My daughter just mentioned it one time when she came home from work late and I was sleeping on the couch wating for her - and snoring. She also mentioned that when she went upstairs to her room her dog was sleeping in the hallway - and snoring. And as she passed our bedroom door she could hear my husband - snoring. Plus when she went into her own room the cat was sleeping on her bed - snoring. She said she actually thought about going out to the barn to sleep but figured the horses would probably be snoring too as there seemed to be a snoring epidemic that night.
