Dentist recommendations for Oral Device in NYC area?

Hi all -

So I think I'm going to give the oral appliance a shot.  I can't tolerate CPAP, and have some success keeping the bite and boil in at night.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good dentist in New York to make a dental device/ oral appliance?  It'd be great if they accepted Oxford in-network.  Do you guys think it is very important to have an experienced dentist for this?  I have looked on oxford and they have a few in-network solutions for the oral device, but I'm not sure if they are any good.

Best,
Tyson

Tyson, check "Sleep Dentists" in NYC on www.SleepSearch.com -- then also check Long Island -- I seem to recall one being reviewed very well somewhere on Long Island. .. his name was Peterson.
this is the guy who got a good review on Long Island: http://www.sleepsearch.com/providers/18437

oh, and by the way i think it is critically important to have a dentist experienced with sleep breathing disorders. you cannot just go to any local dentist and expect a good result. in fact, there are precious few dentists that you can go to and have a good result. that's why it's important for us to identify the good ones on SleepSearch.com so that we all know where to go.
thanks Mike -

I know Dr. Neuhaus was recommended, http://www.gramercydentalarts.com/neuromuscular.html#sleep_apnea, but my one concern is he only uses Somnoguard device... does anyone have experience with this device? It seems like a lot of people use the TAP device based off my research...

Thanks,
Tyson
Also, another Dr., Dr. Binder, uses the Herbst oral device- anyone have any experience and know anything about a particular device that would work well for someone who is a mouth breather with tongue collapse? Also, I would say I open and move my mouth in my sleep, and am sensitive to intrusive devices which is why CPAP hasn't worked for me.
Dr. Michael Gelb located in NYC. http://www.gelbcenter.com/pages/dental_connection.htm
