Blankets over head?
One question : I have always slept with my head under the blankets. It's probably why my husband and I have been married for thirty-eight years!
If I do this while wearing the mask, tech said it would be very dangerous because I would be breathing in carbon dioxide. It's one of the reasons I can wear the mask but can't sleep in it. I keep wanting to put my head under the covers.
Isn't the air I'm breathing in - I wear a Nasal mask vented - coming from the machine through the hose? How could I get enough carbon dioxide to hurt me?
Second question: Is the Pressure vs. the flow the same whether you use nasal pillows or a nasal mask vented?
Thank you all. I'm so tired. And so discouraged.

You should be ok to sleep under the covers Kathleen. As long as you use the same machine the pressure will be the same no matter which mask you use.

Just don't block the vent. If the vent is blocked the co will build up inside the mask and you will rebreathe it. If the blankets are loose I don't think it would be an issue. I know a few weeks ago, my vent got covered up by one of the grandkids tossing and turning and I could tell the difference as the air was really warm and felt stuffy. Once it was uncovered it went back to being cool and clean.
