So does everyone with a CPAP need a humidifier? Is this built in to the CPAP or a totally separate piece of equipment? Sorry for all the questions but I want to understand all my options when I go in to look at all the overwhelming choices. Thanks.

I was told they would NOT sell me a unit without a humidifier. He said "It's like blowing air on a newly-polished car..."(without the heated-moisture, and the car being your mucous membranes... :~)) It's a little plastic ,slide-on reservoir on the front of the machine, with a heating pad under it, it's essential, in my humble opinion. Otherwise, the air isn't near close to your body temp especially depending on your room temp, and that can be really cold depending on where you live, just my opinion, living in So California, San Diego County climate, where you would think it wouldn't matter, since this is moderate climate , so I guess since I've had a history of allergies, I need it, adjust it, and wouldn't be without it, the coldest it gets here at night is 50-55 rare.
