The BioPAP Duo was introduced at a national sleep meeting in Seattle.

BioPAP DUO TM is a combination of standard BioPAP technology and a removable mandibular repositioner such as BioRest TM. This is a state of the art device allows the user to incorporate CPAP therapy with mandibular repositioning therapy (MRT) or MRT alone. This is especially convenient for patients who do not want to travel with CPAP equipment. Another benefit of this version of BioPAP is that it allows the patient to open their mouth to talk while wearing the interface. PAP pressure reduction is also achieved with this version of BioPAP. This same company also offers the BioPAP

BioPAP TM is designed for patients who cannot tolerate CPAP masks and high PAP pressure. It is a dual functioning device which repositions the mandible forward and delivers Positive Air Supply to the mouth directly without the need of bulky masks of head straps. Because the mandibular protrusion opens up the airway by it's self, the device can be used alone of with CPAP connected for extra severe apnea patients. This also allows the therapy pressure to be reduced up to 75%. The air chamber distributes the air flow throughout the dental arch, therefore eliminating dryness and a sore throat associated with direct air flow that other devices would cause. In general this is the least claustrophobic device that a severe sleep apnea patient would find on the marked. It is especially highlighted by the maximized tongue space which allows for normal swallow pattern. See More Details

Interesting. I know TAP appliances are expensive, wonder what the cost of these devices are.
