Zollistar, I've only watched two of the five part series, So far she has talked mainly about the stages of sleep and the healing, restorative sleep is when we're paralyzed during sleep-I believe she said mostly during REM sleep, the deep stages of sleep. When we have sleep apnea and fail to take a breath we are jolted from deep sleep back to the lighter stages of sleep, essentially an awakening. Therefore we don't get enough of the restorative, healing sleep. Sleep apnea- CPAP can fix a lot of these problems because it prevents the constant mini awakenings. When CPAP does not do enough to fix the daytime tiredness and other symptoms of sleep apnea, this doctor looks at B12 and Vit D levels. These are often low and supplements of these vitamins can help. The body heals during the stage of sleep when we are paralyzed. This is a fascinating series- she details the steps and how she came to the conclusions about CPAP and Vitamin B12 and D being important for many reasons.
Zollistar, please correct me if I phrased this wrong , are just plain wrong, or misinterpreted the two videos I have watched so far.
I don't take Vitamin B12, but I'm going to buy some and I do take Calcium/Vit D in a 600/400 mg formlation for my bones.
She also talks about headaches and migraines. Seems there is a inherited gene for migraines though everyone with the gene does not get migraines.

You have not misinterpreted the two videos you saw. I would encourage you to watch the whole series.
The general recommendations for Vitamin D3 (which is not a vitamin, btw: it's a hormone) is 5,000 units a day. Yes: 5,000. Obviously, you need to take Vitamin K2 with it: about 180 - 200 mcg for the 5,000 units of Vitamin D3.
Most people are deficient in Vitamin D3. It has taken me a few years to get my level up to nearly 50.

Zollistar, I finished the five part series this morning. I would like to get my D25OH level checked, have ordered more B12 tablets and plan to get some Vitamin D3. I did not catch the part where she gave the recommendation for 5,000 mg of Vid D3, but I will increase mine. Now I take a calcium/Vit D supplement in a 600/400 dosage twice a day so I only get 800 mg Vit and it's not D3. Where does the Vitamin K come in? It was also interesting that Vit D is a hormone with widespread effects.
I would recommand this series to everyone on, CPAP or not.

My information on the levels of Vitamin D3 (which is a hormone, not a vitamin) to take daily is from Ronald Hoffman, M.D. (visit https://www.drhoffman.com/) and Dr. John Connell of the Vitamin D Council (www,vitamindcouncil.org).
Vitamin K2 helps in the proper absorption of Vitamin D3.

I've been watching the series, up to part 3, will be interested to see how you two go so please give some updates. Have you been blood tested first? It seems like you need a blood test on a fairly regular basis to make sure you are taking the right dosage.
I was tested many years ago and my Vitamin D3 levels were really low. I was tested again in December, 2012 and my level is close to 50.
I take 5,000 units of Vitamin D3 daily as well as 200 mcg. of Vitamin K2. I'm actually going to up my dosages. I'll take double my daily dosage twice a week, Tuesday and Sunday, for a while. I'm not sure when I'll get tested again; when I do, I'll see if I'm between the 60 to 80 range. Thereafter, I'll check periodically -- once a year or so -- to be sure that I remain in the range.
If I stay in the range with the 5000 units (and appropriate K2), I'll assume that's the right dosage for me. I'll stick to that and check with even less frequency -- maybe every 18 to 24 months.
Zollistar, that's what she was saying, I need to get mine done again, I take 1000mgs a day but we are in summer here so trying to get some sun, the problem in Australia is the sun is so hot you burn very quickly and we have the highest rate of skin cancer in the world so we are told to cover up, you can't win. I'm trying to get out early morning or late afternoon.
I found it interestinh that you can overdose on this hormone (known as Vit D) and that the symptoms are very similar to a low level. The last time I had mine checked it was in the recommanded rang of 60-80, but I should have it done again.
Sunshine is the very best source of absorbable Vitamin D3. Ten to fifteen minutes a day on as much of your body as is decent expose should be enough.
