I know that I'm suppose to clean all my cpap parts to make them last longer and what not, but one thing the tech that gave me the equipment didn't tell me is if I can clean the head gear. My bottom straps aren't velcroing to the rest of the head gear anymore which is causing leaks in turn I'm exhausted. My question is can I put the head gear in the washing machine and will it stick to itself again? Or do I just need to buy new head gear? Any help would be awesome and appreciated.

If insured, most insurances will replace the headgear every six months. If you aren't insured then buy some velcro and replace the current velcro. Always best to wash your headgear by hand if you are going to wash it.
I change masks every three or four onths so do not wash the headgear. I would do aa suggested if you think it needs cleaning- wash by hand.
I get my head gear replaced in May. I don't know if I can wait that long. I've been miserable these past two weeks because the velcro won't hold and it undoes itself in the middle of the night.
Anna, how handy are you with a needle and thread? You could replace the velcro. With my masks the straps don't have to be readjusted very often so I could actually sew all my straps into place. I just undo the clips at the bottom of my mask and slip it over my head.
You could also use safety pins.
Greetings Anna,
You're not alone in your frustration with the cleaning your CPAP equipment. Surveys indicate that over 62 percent of respondents view cleaning their CPAP machines as “a necessary evil.”
If not cared for properly bacteria, viruses, and mold grow inside your equipment making you susceptible to sickness and infections.
The SoClean CPAP sanitizing unit is a brand new product designed for daily, hands-free sanitizing of CPAP machines. Having a freshly-sanitized CPAP machine will prevent bacteria build-up helping to avoid respiratory infections and significantly improve your experience.

Lol I actually didn't think to do this! I'm going to sew it tonight. I've been getting horrible sleep lately and I'm just fed up.

Thank you for the link Ginny =D I'm going to look at it now, and also try sewing my straps down.
