Thanks for the info. I am going to check it out for my children. Daughter 12 has ADD and ODD, Son 10 has ADHD and anger issues. I have Aleep Spnea. Some time I wonder if I have Narcolepsy also, Is it possible to have both?
Thank you and Be Blessed
Blessings,TrinaLynn
It is possible to have both. In most cases the apnea has to be treated first. If daytime fatigue continues you can be reevaluated for narcolepsy. Sometimes a blood test can help with the diagnosis of this disorder. A pt with narcolepsy might have high leukocyte antigens in the blood.
Rock brings up a good point. Apnea is often the "Hightener" of the underlying problem. after the apnea is out of the way then they can tell how bad the real issue is. I am sorry I don't have enough info to completely make my answer vaild for you. I would try a local teaching hospital that studies sleep disorders. They often have free clinic's on certain days so the visit's are no charge and they often adjust the cost of a study to your means. My son that has ADHD has not been tested for sleep apnea. I wish he would, but money is tight as daughter-in-law is in RN school.
