I started C-Pap in 1995 on a nasil mask. I used one until a followup sleep study earlier this year. They switched me to a full mask. There are some pro's and con's to both.
The full mask leaks more easily than the nasil one.
The full mask is way more comfortable than the nasil.
I don't need a chin strap anymore.
I find that I need my humidifier more now than with the nasil.
I'd like to hear from some others that have been on both.

I only used a nasal mask during my original titration study. I'm a mouth breather and my nose gets stuffed up so the FFM is really the only option for me. I do have a high pressure which makes leaks harder to controll. I use the Mirage Quattro, recently tried the Ultra Mirage, but although it seems to fit better, the leaks are worse. I definately need the humdiifier.

I have used both and I am not at all comfortable with the full face. Seems like it pinches off my air and it sets very uncomfortably on my chin. The way it fits it feels as if it should be larger but I have been assured it is fitted correctly to me. My mouth becomes so dry,it is painful, even with humidification. More leaks for me also.
I definitely prefer a nasal mask without pillows. Less leaks and the overall comfort level is better.
