Zeo + Watermark= Bringing Home Testing Direct to Consumer

i'm looking in my crystal ball and see a lot more direct-to-consumer home testing efforts like this one: http://blog.myzeo.com/zeo-apnea-screening-a-new-way-to-sleep-better/

The fact that it is sold at Brookstone is kind of a turnoff for me, although the theory is interesting.

I am very happy to see these 2 types of technology come together. Frankly it's about time. I have said all along that you can't have a qualifying sleep related breathing event without measuring for sleep.

My one draw back is with Zeo. Have they worked out their bugs? Last I heard they were having trouble differing between wake, N1, and stage REM. You can't mark events while awake, and counting REM as n1 or wake could rule out quite a few events.

I am also disappointed that they are at Brookstone. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

for me, the fact that it's at Brookstone is a big turn-on ;)  i'm eager for these things to get into the hands of the masses and for the field of sleep technology to advance rapidly as a result.

By the way.... what or where is Brookstone?  We don't have these in the UK

Brookstone is for high end merchandise like accessories for i Pad, "Gift Ideas, Smart solutions", electonic games, alarm clocks,  bed items, massage chairs, personal massagers, ect., and now Zeo.  I think the more units sold the more data will be out there and the more they can do with all this data.

Thanks Mary and good point raised :)

Brookstone is the poor man's Sharper Image!

Yikes, another device that is electronic telling me all about my sleep patterns. That is all I need.

I can't purchase software and hardware for my RESMED CPAP (which I own) from the manufacturer to get readouts and here is another product that is technically unproven in the sleep apnea industry and costs pennies compared to the CPAP and I still won't be able to run it on my computer.

If a device this simple can do all it is suppose to do why doesn't the sleep industry use it?
