I had a dental appointment yesterday and was discussing my seemingly never ending sinus issues. He said that a patient had similar issues and tried Xylitol nasal spray and reported relief. Have any of you used it? Google is full of testimonials but I am asking you folks for some realtime conformation before I try it. What say you? Good sleep ,Chris

Chris, I have just started using Xlear pump spray for about 4-5 days now, it has xylitol.  I am using it for both dry nose and congestion and my nose and breathing seems better. I like that it has no chemical preservatives in it. Some of the others have benzalkonium chloride, like the Ayr brand.

Hopefully some other forum members will have used it for sinus and can give you more info. And basically it doesn't cost a fortune, so why not just try it. I bought it at a Whole Foods cost about $15.

Thanks Mary, If it dosnt fix as a nasal spray I can try it as a coffee sweetener ; ) .Whole Foods Prides themselves on having good stuff .Time for a try. Good Sleep Chris

Not so scary, I am trying it .Seems to get the juices flowing .Sweet taste in back of throat unlike other sprays.Turns out Xylitol sorbitol malitol are all sugar replacments just wonder who and how using it as a nasal spray came about.Someone putting it in their coffee missed an it went in their nose?  : 0      Good Sleep Chris
Actually Xylitol is used in chewing gum, toothpaste and a host of other items. But you are right, who thought of putting it up their nose! I guess because xylitol kills bacteria.

Mary & Chris,

What is the exact name of this product, I am going to try and find it at Harry's or Whole Foods. Thanks :)

The name is Xlear, Xylitol Sinus Nasal Spray. Comes in a regular spray as well as a pump spray as far as I know. I bought it at Whole Foods.

Many people say it works good for them. Only thing I did not like about it was that it had a preservative in it called something like benzalconiumchloride. Don't like what I have read about it. So I went with a more natural solution.
