I did a few more reviews- there are sure a lot more labs and suppliers listed than last time I was there. I can't use the nasal mask so please don't enter me in the sweepstakes.
Thanks
Mary Z.
Yer lucky, SGC! I see a sleep doctor at my sleep lab next week. Heaven only knows which one of the three I know about will be there. So, if I'm lucky I'll get the one I haven't reveiwed yet that looks like he "might" be a little more .... impressive than the other two who are pleasant but .... still not quite what I'd like to have in a sleep doctor.

Is that the Swift FX pictured in the initial post of this thread??? It looks interesting. Light weight, not much to it. I might like it.
Hi Judy -- yes, that is the Swift FX pictured above. Looks good to me.

Ha! I'll have to reveiw this sleep doctor whether I've formed a definite opinion or not! *wicked grin* That's kinda what I did w/the other two. So-so. NOT bad sleep doctors but not ones to write home to momma about as the ideal sleep doctor either. You could do a lot worse than either one of them! But, I'd really like to find a sleep doc that I could rave about and praise to high heaven. *sigh* I've got an Endocrinologist and an Ob/Gyn I could rave about - so I don't think I'm out of line hoping and wishing for a sleep specialist I could rave about too. Dr Park, wanna move to mid-Michigan???
Ha! I saw the FX last night at our local apnea support group meeting! That is MY kind of mask!!! Not much too it, lightweight, hose VERY flexible. I've not been overly fond of nasal pillows, but did like the Swift LT (that original Swift was an assinine bugger w/the side hose attachment!). That FX just might be worth going back to PoliGrip Denture Gel to keep prevent the lip flutters!!!!!

I also got to try the FitLife. Hey, that sucker was COMFORTABLE. But when the PAP got up to my higher pressures I had some problem w/a minor leak in the top center of my forehead. The leak wasn't bad and probably was well w/in my VPAP Auto's compensatory leak capabilities - but the whistle. Uh uh. I'd never get to sleep w/that. There wasn't time to do much fiddling w/it at the meeting as there were plenty of others w/questions, wanting to try a mask, etc., etc. I'm going to order one next time I'm due for a new mask.

I got my first good look at the S9 in the flesh. The hosing really is lightweight and flexible. Much more so than the usual hosing we are all used to. And Respironics had their new SystemOne there again for us to look over and ask about. I got a kick out of the two Reps, both who like each other and are friendly rivals and their one-up-man-ship about their new devices. Resmed had the recall for the power supply connector several years ago, they now use a power brick *ugh*! Respironics had nothing but headaches w/their M Series humidifiers, their SystemOne humidifier is virtually leak proof. I gave Resmed a boost w/a question about the advanced patient menu and data access available to the patient. The Respironics Rep was quick to pick up on that and made it a point to tell the members that he firmly believes that the wave of the future is going to be to grant patients access to their data and encouraging them to take an active part in their therapy. *wicked grin* Both reps just did an outstanding job last night.

I took some cpaptalk.com brochures and they went quickly!!! I also took some Padacheek brochures and they went every bit as quickly and then some. Padacheek provided some of her products as door prizes and they went over well. I was a bit disappointed that the door prize drawing was held during the members' access to the manufacturer reps and masks and devices as I thought a little more credit could have been given to Padacheeks and what they were. And maybe they did and I just didn't hear it 'cause I was bugging the Reps w/questions. But, I did hear one of the hosts asking a winner what type of mask she used, and when she said a nasal pillows the host exchanged the Padacheek doorprize w/another. So they were paying attention and not just handing them out willly-nilly.

Another good meeting 'tho not on the scale yet of your AWAKE group meetings, Mike. Wish "we" had a Dr Park in our area. *sigh*
