Why does CPAP plug my nose, and causes acid reflux?

Anybody else have this problem?  I put on my CPAP and go to sleep, and within a couple hours my nose is plugged and throat burning from acid reflux.  Thanks for any responses.

What has your doctor say about the problem of acid reflux

i am careful of what i eat and drink plenty of water to minimes my acid reflux
Hi 99. My PCP doc is having me try the different acid reflux meds.
Matt,

I also was not aware of your SCI.

Here is some good information from Dr. Park on stuffy noses that might be of some help, http://doctorstevenpark.com/unstuff-your-stuffy-nose . I would also encourage you to drop your humidifier setting by one each night and see what happens. If you get too dry one night, bump it back up by one the next night. Remember, the humidifier is to help keep the nasal passages from drying out and even on the highest setting will not do much for dry mouth caused by excessive mouthbreathing. There are other aids for that.

Dr. Park has a few articles lower down on this page, http://doctorstevenpark.com/index.php?s=acid+reflux , that deal with acid reflux. The second article on this page, http://doctorstevenpark.com/index.php?s=gerd , is titled, The Truth About Acid Reflux Medications.

I recommend that all sleep apnea patients take the time to read all of Dr. Park's blogs and articles at http://doctorstevenpark.com/ .
Thanks Banyon, great info. Sorry for not mentioning my spinal cord injury in this thread, as I don't think it's a contributor to the problem; my nose does not plug up till PAP is applied. And yes, thanks, I've messed with the humidifiers, to no avail as of yet. Must be something I'm overlooking. Will read Dr. Park's articles and see if I can figure it out.

try eating alkly food like a boiled potato,

i have heared of diffrent people finding relief bya going in the oposite direction and taking cidervinigar, which is an acid and find that helps, which shows that there is not enough acid in the stomach

causiion should you decide to try cidervinigar as it can burn a hole in the stomach if over used doseage one table spoon to one full glass of water
