I am not sure how reliable these links are.

I have read that due to America's high obesity problem that we lead the world in apneacs. Right now an estimated 14 milllion people are supposed to be on PAP therapy. I am not sure if those numbers are compliance driven or an estimate of people diagnosed. In the text book "The Essentials of Polysomnography" the authors estimate that there are about 50 million people with undiagnosed sleep disorders in America alone. I would also assume that the numbers coming out of many of the asian countries may be askewed, and the same of less developed populations.
