Weird actually. At least for me. Instead of actually sleeping it was more like I was dozing on and off all night long. And dreaming and actually remembering the dream. Not a nightmare, not an at all distressing dream, just a blah dream, Maybe a fit frustrating and not really ABOUT anything. Surprisingly my data isn't all that bad at all considering. AI 0.7, HI 5.7, AHI 6.1 Time in Apnea 0.1% Slept about 8 1/2 hours w/an additional 1/2 hour nap about 1 PM. Usual bedtime and morning rising time. I don't remember sleep that erratic since first three months starting CPAP in late 2006 nor do I remember dreaming like that either. Weird. Life is NEVER boring! It would appear sleep isn't either!!! *wicked grin*

Didn't seem to be the COPD either. Last four mornings Peak flow has been 190, 200, 190 and 190 whereas it is usually 150-170. (L/M)

Oh yeah, I've forgotten until now. Rock Hinkle on your medications and sleep list: albuterol. I use a nebulizer shortly before bedtime: 0.042% potency (1.25 mg/3mL)

Wow, how weird. Do you think you ate anything different before bed. I've not noticed it myself, but I've often heard from others who have weird sleeping/vivid dreams after eating pork or something.
Nope nothing unusual to eat and usual meal time as well. I suspect that maybe it had something to do w/HAVING to get moving AGAIN this morning. Usually we lead a pretty quiet, peaceful existence but the last couple of weeks its seemed like every day I've HAD to go someplace, even if just for a short while, and I'm plain getting TIRED of HAVING to go ANY where for ANY length of time. Maybe it was just some resentment creeping thru and I'm just getting too set in my ways in my old age. I'm probably juut resenting HAVING to do ANYTHING. We'll see wha' hoppens tonight.
Sounds to me like you got great sleep cycles in last night. I think we put to much emphasis on our dreams. i will check on the Albuterol/nebulizer treatment soon. I worked 8/10 days 4 off 8/10 on. This 3 weeks ends next week in a cabin on the lake in Sandusky Ohio. After the that the real studying begins for both my wife and I.
Eh, I didn't think much of the dream, I don't think I've been aware of dreaming more than 10 times in my entire life. It was the constant waking, dozing in and out of sleep that "bugged" me. And this really wasn't a "dream" dream, it was one of what I call "think dreams", the ones where you are awake enough to have control over them. I used them for years to get to sleep. I would think of something I wished would happen and orchestrate the dream until I fell asleep. Or anticipate an upcoming event to the way I would like it to go. I do think you're right about the wakenings being the end of a sleep cycle tho because I was aware of being awake about every hour and twenty minutes to an hour and forty-five minutes. It was just strange for me, very erratic (Yes, I said erratic, NOT erotic). *wicked grin*

Hey, hey, glad to hear about the Sandusky retreat! It certainly has sounded like you have EARNED it, Rock Hinkle!!!!. (((hugs))) to you and the family. ENJOY!
i am very excited about the Sandusky trip. We took the kids to King's island a couple of weeks ago so this trip is just for me and the Mrs. i am very excited! it has been a very long time since we were able to do anything without the kids. The cabin is right on the lake next to Cedar Point. Should be fun.

Judy, maybe you caught your erratic sleep from me!!!!!!!!

I had another of those episodes this a.m. where I woke suddenly feeling like I wasn't getting enough air. Thought the machine was off, but it was on. My mask had slipped a little, not much, but when I adjusted, the air started flowing again......I'm a little concerned 'cause I don't know how long it was registering hours for Medicare. I don't know how to read the data machine yet. I have a nasal mask that I think I'll try today to get some extra time in. Maybe I'll go to sleep!!!! God, what a treat THAT would be! That "no air" feeling really creeps me out. More motivation to stay on!!!.........I'm sleepy as hell right now, but I have to be somewhere at 10:00. Hope I don't hit anybody driving. I shouldn't be, for sure..........

Not a nasal mask--that's what I'm using now. I have another nasal PILLOW mask that I'm gonna try. Not too fond of the prongs--have to keep adjusting them but I sure do feel the air flow when they're on right.....

Oy, Rock HInkle!!!! How great, just the two of you! A little mooning, a little spooning ..... ENJOY! I strongly suspect the two of you REALLY have EARNED this vacation! My best to you and yours.

Yep, jnk, I'm pretty sure it was just plain overtired and overstressed. I slept 11 1/2 hours last night. Went to bed early due to being tired - and sleepy - woke once at 4:30 AM and had NO TROUBLE going back to sleep and actually slept in until my favorite 8:30 AM wakening. Ahhhhhh. Actually, I fought to stay awake thru a one hour TV program and ended up dozing on and off thru it. HI at that time was sky high, in the high teens, 17 or 18+, w/no apneas at all. So I was REAL pleased w/my results this AM. AI 0.5 and AHI only 10 or 10.5, I've forgotten already.

Susan, it isn't unusual to wake up feeling like our xPAP isn't running. More than once as I was getting acclimated to xPAP therapy I, and others, have actually had to pull our mask away from our face or open our mouth to breathe thru our mouth to be sure our xPAPs were running. As long as you don't feel like you are suffocating and can't get enough air having that happen is a GOOD sign. Its a sign that you are acclimating to xPAP therapy and that your pressure setting is well w/in the range you need (your AI and how you feel being the final determining factor that you've found your "sweet spot" of needed pressure).

And Susan, it isn't worth killing or maiming someone - or yourself. You should NOT BE DRIVING if you are that tired and sleepy!!!! No ifs, ands or buts about it. You are a loaded gun playing Russian Roulette when you get behind the wheel when tired and sleepy. And knowing you are that tired and sleepy you are no better than a drunk who climbs behind the wheel and drives. If you think that I am being hard on you - just keep in mind - I'm not. My oldest daughter was killed by a drunk driver and I have NO USE for those who intentionally drive whilst impaired. So I'm actually being very easy on you as compared to how I usually react when someone admits to driving when sleepy. I AM being VERY SERIOUS about this! If you don't care about yourself, don't be so selfish, think of the innocents who will be sharing the road w/you. BELIEVE ME, IF you and I hadn't formed a friendship thru this forum I would NOT be anywhere near so "nice" w/my comments.
