I was talking with my son's wife yesterday.
She said Tony (my son) has been having some issues with high blood pressure, heart irregularities, feeling "weird", and some chest pains. They put him on high blood pressure medicine but they haven't gotten the doseage right and so had another appointment yesterday.
He did a stress test and passed it. No additional testing was done at this point (last week).
He is going to a primary care physician (not the same doctor I go to). The doctor did not do a referral to one of the of the cardiac doctors in town. Said she could take care of it. She ordered him a heart monitor to be worn a month and they will see what the results indicate.
Near the end of the conversation Jeanna said the doctor thought Tony may have sleep apnea and that may be impacting his health. No MENTION of a referral for a sleep study at all. The doctor told my son IF the heart monitor didn't show anything she would refer him to an ENT to have his deviated septum fixed and that would CURE his sleep apnea. Still no mention of having a sleep study done.
This doctor is why so many don't trust the medical field.
