Hello, I am a 48yo on CPAP for about 6 years now. I have recently lost 60# and gained a boyfriend! I have yet to have a sleepover, but although he knows about the CPAP, I am extremely uncomfortable needing to use in his presence. I spoke to my MD who said just try sleeping without it and see how it goes. I am anxious about not breathing without my CPAP, so I am not sure whether my frequent wake ups are due to my state of mind or OSA! I hate CPAP, I hate snoring, and I hate not sleeping well, and I love my boyfriend! Does anybody have recommendations for me? Do the stop snoring sprays work at all, could they help?

I reread my comment above and believe I was making things too simplistic as I am nearly 60 years old and in a stable relationship for over 12 years. I started CPAP only four years ago. Since my Bipolar disorder wasn't a deal breaker, CPAP was easy for my partner to accept. Many of us my age have varied health problems so it's not nearly the same as dating in your late teens and 20's.
maybe get a portable study done so you aren't out big bucks, see if you still have apnea. I personally think an ENT doctor who is board certified in sleep can give you better options regarding OSA treatment. There are some dental devices that are good. But remember, if your boyfriend loves you he isn't going to care what you have on your face while you are both passed out snuggling together. I know what you mean though, when I first wore it in front of my wife it was kinda embarassing. Then I decided it was less embarrasing than keeping her up all night snoring. LOL
Would you wear it in front of someone that you were dating for one month who and who has other people pursuing her? It's different if you're 60, in a long term relaionship and except other people's medical problems. It's also different for a guy. They have to pursue, not be pursued.
yeah I would. because snoring obnoxiously in her ear probably would eliminate any further sleep overs. lol.
Not from my experience. You have to date heavy sleepers (or provide ear plugs).
