Mike I have been using CPAP since March 17, 2011.  Yep, the dated is ingrained in my brain.  It is a difficult process with much trial & error and most of the work has to be done by the patient.  I hate CPAp but I do sleep well with it. If something else would work as well I would try it in a heart beat. I don't find it hinders  with travel but I can see where it might "get in the way" in dating situations. But then in that situation there usually are revelations of many kinds that are made as a relationship grows. Wish I was very wealthy and could have more research done on the treatment of this horrible illness.  But it could be worse.  There is always someone that is in a worse situation than you/me, I think.

Well, Mike, you certainly know more about CPAP than I do.  Perhaps the Provent product would be less awkward for dating situations?  I know what you mean though, it is a complete hassle unless at home in the bedroom without a date.  I hope they do come up with a medical alternative that does not involve invasive surgery.  Based on my reading the mandidbular-maxillo advancement seems the most promising and usually improves your looks (they say).

Mike, I started a new discussion for success stories.  Hopefully you will see some comments from people CPAP has helped.  Unfortunately I do not have a sucess story yet, except to say that I have used CPAP for 3 1/2 years without problems.  Due to the many prescription meds I take I am having trouble getting titrated.  I am certainly the exception though.  Usually after a few bumps in the road people get on with their therapy without problems and with good results.
