What are some tips in cleaning your equipment and drying it. I use a mild soap hand wash and i dry all my equipment in my Hurracane dryer, ( not the unit ).

Ok, Forget everything I just said then. On the VPAP it is called Smartstart. It has a dual purpose of starting therapy when putting the mask on and taking a breath or turning it off when the mask is removed. Try turning the Smartstart off and see if that will let your machine keep running.

Hi Kath,
Yup that is me. Shoot me an email with what your problem is and I will be happy to walk you through it. You may also want to try going to my site and reading the CMS-50D Plus Download Help. I typed out step by step instructions on how to get these things downloaded.

Okay don't be shocked when I let you in on a little secret -- as a kid growing up in the late 50's / early 60's (born in 1954) we ate a fair share of dirt. There were 6 of us kids and a small three bedroom home. It was so nice when the weather was decent that we could play outside -- more than once I can remember "digging to China", making mud pies (and wondering why they didn't taste like my mom's chocolate pie LOL), and other assorted outdoor fun. I have often wondered if that isn't why kids are more prone to sickness as many do not play outside and heaven forbid if they got a little dirt in their mouths!!
I don't know when I cleaned anything on my machine, including the hose and mask. It has to have been at least three months ago or longer. I still am maintaining a good seal -- the whole objective in my mind.
I can remember when I was in college (17 or 18 years ago) I took a CPR class. I had the class previously and knew that they wiped "Annie" down with alcohol wipes and had never had a problem. They had switched to using a mild bleach solution as it was suppose to be more sanitary. When my turn came, the instructor wiped "Annie" down and I started the process only to have the bleach fumes create an awful asthma attack. Learned my lesson then and there.
I feel most germs around the home can be safely sent packing with good old soap and hot water. Just my own opinion, mind you.
No problem. I also have the manufacturers instructions (for what they are worth) on there so you can enlarge them.
It needs cleaning????
