I would love to "attend" this but I can't leave my son on his own for an hour. Will it be available online when it's over so that I can read it the next day when he's in school?
Thank you!!
Diane
Thank you so much Mike!! And Dr. Park!!
Have a terrific day!
I'm here :)
I had a bipap machine for 8 months and now have a Vpap machine. I'm finding that, once I get everything set and the machine up and running, I lay down and my nose immediately stops up. I've tried 2 different prescription nasal sprays and had surgery to correct a deviated septum and find that I still have the problem. I'm pretty much at my wits end on what to do next.
Dr. Park, what do you recommend?
Thank you.
Thanks, Mike. Glad to be here.
I think we have to refresh the browser periodically to see if anyone asks a question or to see my answer. In the future, it would be nice if there were an instant "chat" type feature for these type of events.
Greg, it sounds like you could have one of two possible issues:
1. You could have vasomotor rhinitis, where due to an involuntary nervous system imbalance, your blood vessels in your nose can't constrict when you're lying flat. Another possibility is that you still have structural issues in your nose that needs to be addressed further (persistent deviated nasal septum, enlarged turbinates, or flimsy nostrils). Did you try using Breathe Right Strips? Also, are you on any high blood pressure medications?
Mike,
Nasal congestion seems to be the most common problem. But other common complaints include a chronically runny nose, a dry crusty nose, and sinus pain and pressure.
